As it is very convenient to use tag, there are always many tags created. Although it is easy to seach, there are also many reductent.
I would appreciate to learn any good practise of tag usage from you.
I would like to use Tags more. They have great potential. But as it is now, Doit is lacking some features to make it worthwhile to apply them:
- they need to be visible for each task in the list so that you can doublecheck them and so that you can use them for "ocular filtering"
- they need to be visible in a toolbar so that you can quickly limit the contents of your list (In v4 they were moved in under a menu, which is more troublesome, and the regrouping options are also too troublesome to get to; also under a menu.)
- they need to be applicable to projects and goals for managing Areas and other things, and would need to be applied automatically to all tasks inside
- they need to be filterable in Boolean AND, OR and NOT (especially NOT is important, to temporarily hide things from the list). This applies both to the advanced saved filter and to the temporary ad hoc quick filter of the list.
- they need to be better harmonized with contexts, projects, goals, and priorities so that you can use them all combined for quick ad hoc "tag filtering" of the list in front of you. One way would be to have the capability to "tag" all such other things ad hav tasks inherit the tags. Another way would be to have user preference setting such as "Kale goals available in tag filter, "Make priorities available in Tag filter" etc.
