I just signed up for activeinbox add on for gmail last night, and so far anyway, I am amazed and loving it, but I am so excited about it, managing my email in a gtd fashion, it really seems intelligent way of working, do you use it?
I know most of you, many I am guessing have been working the gtd, or roughly gtd style for awhile now and probably are using this, or have setup your gmail to implement as closely as possible to gtd, any comments out there for me?
They allow converting emails to tasks, this in turn gets turned into google tasks, so I am thinking you can then get them into doit as well although have not tried yet.
No Lisa, I have not tried it, and I am honestly a bit reluctant to have my "Next actions", "Waiting For actions" etc in two different places, unless I really have to. But it is certainly doable, and I know some people do not mind having it split up like that.
I treat my email as a correspondence log. That's it. And I keep tasks in my todo app.
I often do not have a one-to-one relationship between email and task, anyway. Often a new email just results in a change to the description or priority etc of an already existing task. Or sometimes an email gives rise to several tasks or even several projects. I would not want to structure my whole todo system by how other people have structured their correspondence with me. I actually WANT these to be separate - it gives me a sense of "independence".
