@hntopper
Hello,
It has been in our development plan. :) And now you may use "Tag" instead. Here is a video.

@hntopper I use the goals as work around.
I would like this ability as well. -

@jknightsmith - this seems like a good use of goals as I don't think I would use it for the "macro" perspective that it was intended. Thanks.

@hntopper and @jknightsmith
I do not know how to bring about the semi-permanent type of workspace separation that I think you are probably looking for, but personally I do not use that kind of perspective anyway, so it does not matter to me (but I know that many others find it useful.)
What I have a habit of doing is I keep my standalone (i.e. non-project related) tasks in a "phony project" named after the Area and move the task to that "phony project". I currently use 10 areas, which means I have 10 such "phony projects" at the end of my projects list. That's it, well almost.
I also have clustered all projects (both real and "phony") under two umbrella "phony goals" called Home and Work, just as suggested. I thought that might be handy, but I am not sure.
But I have not used tags, as Michelle suggested, because tags are not visible in the task lists, and the Area name is definitely something I want to see in the list. Only Project and Context are visible.
I experimented with using Contexts for Areas (and use Tags for contexts), because my Areas are mutually exclusive (just as the Context field) and the Context is visible in the task list. Projects can be tagged with a "Context" but not with a tag, so this seemed ideal initially. Sadly, I cannot remember why I had second thoughts about this, and decided to use Context for location contexts. Maybe I need to rethink this. Any ideas?
By the way, I would find it useful to have all tags visible for each task in the tag list - quicker if you want to double check the tagging or whenever you want to pick tasks ocularly. But that's a different story. -
