@hntopper
Hi,
You can use drag and drop to put the task to today list now. Do you think that the star is more convenient to use?
Shall you need any help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Thank you for your support! Merry Christmas. : )
Best regards,

Yes I think that the Star is more convenient. You should have the ability to do both... star a task or drag it to today.
What about on the iPad and iPhone app? Will the star be removed from there? -

@hntopper
Hi,
There is not star in the new version of the iPhone app. You can download it to have a try ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/doit.im-for-iphone/id779377375?ls=1&mt=8 ). But we make the task editing page and the viewing page at the same page. So you can edit the task when you view it.
Note: The new version and the old version can be used at the same time on iPhone. -

The new iPhone app looks very pretty and modern :-)
It is very good that you took away the old star that hard scheduled tasks for today and removed them from where they actually were. If we want to hard schedule tasks, the new functionality is absolutely perfect. No star needed for that :-)
But it would be extremely useful to have the normal, simple, non-corruptive star that most other apps have - a star that does not change any dates or boxes or anything; it just shines and makes tasks visible in Today, too, in addition to where they actually "live".
Many of us used the old star as a clumsy workaround for the normal star that we are all so used from almost all other apps, and which we missed in Doit. Can you please implement a new "normal" star a.s.a.p.? -

+2 to @Folke's point, again. By far the biggest shortcoming in doit.im as it stands in my opinion.

I completely agree with Folke, we need to bring back the star in the method that he describes. Perhaps this could simple be the DoIT Now function that was taken away? Leave the Star for the Today box, then implement the DoIT Now function for a completely seperate list that acts in the manor described above in Folke's comment. Any task that gets' selected as
"Doit Now" stays in the box that it was in originally (Scheduled, waiting, Today/Star, etc) but also shows up on the Doit Now list. -

I completely agree! I also woule be really happy to have this! At the moment I am seriously thinking about changing to a competitor by the time I wouldn't depend on a windows/web interface anymore.
However, implementing the new function should not delay the update to bring back the so far esthablished "Doit Now"-Feature on iphone. Without it, the app is unfortunately nearly useless for my personal needs. -
