Hi,
You can put the project under a goal on all versions.
On web version:
You can assign a goal to a task/project. Directly drag a task/project and drop it to the targeted goal, or right click a task/project on the tasks or projects list and select a goal.
See the pic: http://faq.doit.im/web.html#82
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,

it is possible to puit tasks under a goal. I would like to put whole projects under a goal.
This would make some things faster. Thanks so much!
Best regards,
Dennis

It would make more sense if, when a project is attached to a goal, it also goes for all the actions in the project. Suppose I have a project I want to put under a goal, along with all actions within the project. Would that mean I have to drag the project and every single action in it over to the goal?

@OmeWillem
I am not sure I understand what you are actually asking for, but it works like this right now: When you click a Goal in the left menu you will see a list of all projects (active and inactive) that belong to that goal, and you will also see those tasks that belong to the goal directly without belonging to a project. The latter feature I do not use. I keep all my tasks in projects and all my projects in goals (see http://help.doit.im/group/topic/92 and http://help.doit.im/group/topic/60).
If you create a new task in a project, and if that project belongs to a goal, then implicitly the task also belongs to that goal.
@OmeWillem and @wendy_only
The Goals feature at the moment is not much exploited in Doit's design. At the moment, what it gives you is an alternative tree structure in the left menu. Instead of looking at the long Projects list, you can see a shorter projects list under each goal, and keep your long list collapsed. I find that very useful and I like it a lot. But it would be possible to do so many more useful things with Goals:
1) OmeWillem - is sounds as if you are referring to a Goal overview task list, something suggested here. http://help.doit.im/topics/2833 - an intelligently filtered list of tasks that belong to that goal
2) Grouping by Goal in the Next list and other lists (because grouping by project can get a bit cluttered)
3) Availability of Goal as a filter option in the saved searches (advanced filters)
4) Availability of Goal, Project, Context in the quick Tag filter. This could be implemented either as user preference options to include either or all of these types of things in the list of tags, and/or to simply make Goals, Projects and Contexts taggable and let these tags be inherited by the tasks.
5) Hard permanent "app filter" (or "area switch", e.g home/work/weekend), based either on Goals directly or on certain Tags which you have applied to Goals or other entities; the latter is a more flexible solution.
