Hi,
I just upgraded to pro (you're the best game in town) and I'll just be honest - I was hoping to enjoy a seamless task management interaction between an android smartphone (where I've been using doit.im for a long time) and my new pc which is a windows 8 hybrid device (transformer style tablet - Samsung smart pc 500T). Now - the first impression after installing doit.im windows app - sweet lord, this is sooo slow. Plain scrolling inbox is incredibly laggy, it just does not respond to finger touch with any sort of fluidity. Which is weird, since any kind of "native" app should be better than the web version - which ironically runs butter smooth on IE10 or Chrome and is just a pleasure to use (just can't really use it on a mobile device since the web version is connection/wifi dependent). The native app, in terms of scrolling, is horrible in comparison. Not that it's not useful regarding feature set - it's just pain to use, again - it lags tremendously.
If a dual core 1.8 GHz CPU with hyperthreading is not enough to render a fluid finger scroll in the desktop version, although does a fine job decoding full hd video, then there's something weird in the way the scrolling mechanism is written.
The same goes for the way icon light up. I hover over them with a pen and it takes a while for them to light up... But, you know, icons are not an important thing. The fact that scrolling a list of tasks is as smooth as riding a bike with square wheels, that's a problem.
Now, I'm not a programmer, but I do realize two things. One - supporting multiple platforms is a pain in the neck, and you have limited resources and you have to allocate your programmers' time intelligently. So you use a framework on windows (NET?), that speeds up the application development and deployment process - thing is, this framework or some particular parts of code may be a bottleneck to your app.
Second thing I realize is that suggesting a framework change is as if suggesting engine change in a car. Might as well change the car and write the app from scartch.
So might I suggest someone just takes a look at the scrolling part of the code and see if it can be made smoother? Cause it's really, really bad compared to everything else I've seen on the touchy windows 8 so far, and it very much hurts the experience of doit.im on a tablet.
And to make this clear - I like your app very much, in fact I like it so much I desperately need it to work smoother ;)
Best regards
And besides that scrolling thing - great job.
We will do some research on your system configuration, and will find a way to improve it.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
