Hello,
We won't shut down Doit, and we are still trying to make it better.
"I've put all my life tasks into doit.im " -- We will keep that in mind all the time to motivate ourselves. Doit will have new version in the November, combined with a new collaboration platform. And your suggestion will be recorded to improve it.
Thank you for using Doit.

@Linjiani
New version in November! Wow! Great!
One of the major downsides of Doit has always been that "today" tasks are physically moved to a different list (to the Today list). The normal practice (in Gmail, GDrive and all task manager apps I have ever seen) is to just "flag" them but let them stay where they are. This "normal" way makes it possible to still see all your Next actions if you look at Next (but you see the star for those that have been starred) or se all your Waiting (delegated) actions if you look at Waiting (even if some of those have beeen starred for anticipated delivery today).
Having incomplete lists, as we have have always had in Doit, is very troublesome.
Will this be "corrected" ("normalized") in the November version? -
10/09/2015 15:16#3
Hello @Linjiani!
Regarding this: "new version in the November, combined with a new collaboration platform".
Can you please give a peek will there be something like Gantt chart?
Gantt chart nesessity is doubtful when using for personal planning (though I guess it is still handy for visual perception) but it is pretty natural for collaborating organization.
Thanks! -

@Folke
Now it's hard to say about the new features, because first we will launch the new app, and then start to combine them together.
We are still adding new features to the new app, I hope i could tell you more, but now we don't have a clear roadmap. -

@Linjiani
Keep my fingers crossed for Gannt-like chart view. And for extended API too. =) -

I 100% agree with @Folke that when a "Next" item is marked for today, tomorrow, etc. it should remain in the "Next" items list.
Hopefully this and other features like repeat on complete, and sequential projects that only show the first "next" item in the overall "Next" view, will be included in the new version. -
10/16/2015 08:59#12PRO
@colinmarshall
I already reported all these features as "needed most" to our PM, sorry that recently the update is slow, we are still trying to make Doit easier to use.
-
10/16/2015 18:46#13PRO
Thanks for the update.
While collaboration features would be nice, they are not essential to GTD. It would be nice if you guys went back to focusing on properly implementing GTD into Doit.im once the collaboration feature is rolled out. Overall you guys have developed an awesome app with Doit.im, however it's missing a few features that should (in my opinion) have been implemented a long time ago. -
10/16/2015 19:27#14PRO
Thanks for your response, Linjiani. I look forward to the new version and happy to hear there is something going on to improve it.
In reference to Folke and colinmarshall - I disagree that having a Today or Tomorrow list is not common practice. If we are using GTD as a guide, my interpretation is that Allen stresses that you use a "trusted system" and to put your items in a calendar only when these items are to be done at a specific time or day.
I use the concept of reviewing all the time. With different frequencies, I hit the Inbox, Today, Scheduled, Waiting, each project and Someday folders. I actually schedule some of these review times in Doit.im itself.
That said - I think it is important that Folke, colinmarshall and many others be permitted to at least have these items in whatever view works for them - so that this would also be their "trusted system."
Here's a wish list - (I am almost entirely a web, Android app & iPad user, I could never get the feel of the Windows app)
- Integration with IFTTT, Pocket & Buffer (all of which I manually or use to progmatically email to my doit Inbox now)
- Integration with cloud storage like Google Drive with a heading called Reference.
- Ability to play around more with the location of the nodes named Goals, Projects & Contexts. I find myself having to scroll down to Context when I add new items to drag and drop so I'd like to be able to move or close permanently the Goals node). Maybe I'd really like Context to just be higher, that seems key in Allen's philosophy as well. I could just click on my Work context and see everything - Next, Today, etc. I REALLY like that view and it's buried at the bottom of the page.
- Ability to create a new item in the Inbox and not have it disappear until I drag and drop it to a time (Today, Tomorrow, Next, Scheduled). When you drag to a project, it automatically goes over to Next, which means I need to switch views and essentially lose my place. What I like is when I drag to Context, it stays put in the Inbox. This could be an option as well, because I am sure my workflow is not everyone's.

blisterpop,
I am sorry if I was unclear at some stage. I am not saying that a "Today" list is uncommon. On the contrary. It is extremely common. Most apps have it. It is often called Focus or Starred or Flagged, but the name is not important.
The point I wanted to make is that in all other todo apps I have ever seen (and other types of apps, such as GDrive etc) a starred item is ALWAYS visible in TWO places - both in its "real" (true) position AND on the "starred list". This ensures that we can see both it among the tasks of its kind (if we want to review our tentative Today selection), and among the tasks that have already been tentatively chosen for today (if we want to execute).
I agree with those who have said in a recent thread that the special Planning view is not necessary. It is better to just see the starred Next actions in their regular place within their group in the Next list (grouped by project, context or whatever).
(Tomorrow is something I have disabled. If I ever need to "tickle" something for tomorrow I simply use Scheduled.) -
10/16/2015 23:28#16PRO
@blisterpop just as Folke said I think you misunderstood our request. I definitely want Today, Tomorrow, etc. in the app. We are saying that having an item marked down as for Today or for Tomorrow should not remove it out of the "Next" list. Just because it is marked for today doesn't change the fact that it is a next action on a project. Inbox, Next, & Someday should be mutually exclusive, but not Next & Today/Tomorrow.
Hopefully that clears up what we are asking. -
10/17/2015 10:06#17PRO
“ An item marked as for Today or for Tomorrow shouldn't be removed from the "Next" list. ” -This feature has already been added, we are considering to change it to make Doit easier to use for most of the users.
Thank you for the discussion :) -

After two years with a premium account I cancelled it because there is no export feature in doit.
Any plans @linjiani? -

@Linjiani when you say this feature has already been added, you mean for a future release, correct? I just checked and the current version it is not yet added.

@colinmarshall
Yes, we discussed with the PM about it before, it will be in the next version, currently we don't support this feature. -

Hi @Linjiani.
Could you please give us some feedback about the question I made you a few days ago in this thread? (export feature)
Thanks. -
10/21/2015 04:54#26PRO
Hi @joaquinmari
I'm Sorry for not replying you in time.
Our team are now trying to develop more features.
Besides,we will launch a collaboration platform to meet the needs of more users.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Wish you a nice day : )

10/21/2015 12:42#27PRO
@linjiani I hope that the new “An item marked as for Today or for Tomorrow shouldn't be removed from the "Next" list.” feature is optional or atleast that there is a way to still see only task that have not been scheduled. The use this extensively when planning every morning using the built in planning tool.
When I scheduling task for today I don't want to see task that have already been scheduled for tomorrow, etc. -
10/21/2015 14:40#28PRO
We have deliverd your needs to our product manager.
Besides,we will try to make more and better service for more users.
We will soon launch 'Rush' to meet more needs.
Thanks for using Doit.im

OK so no plans for this feature for the moment.
Thanks. -

Hi,@joaquinmari
Did the export feature you mentioned mean that you want to share the file link with your contacts?
Or what you need is to export your data?This feature has been under development.
Besides,our new product"Rush"will support both of the mentioned features.
Wish you a nice day : ) -
10/24/2015 07:55#31
This is good news @Linjiani.
I was asking about data export. A serious app that targets managers and business men should provide this feature.
When this feature exists, I'll consider coming back to doit as pro user.
Thanks and rgds. J.

Hey,@joaquinmari
The feature of data export has been under development.
Recently,our team are focusing on developing a new product,this App will provide more and better service.
Thanks for using Doit.
Wish u back: ) -
10/27/2015 14:17#33
@Linjiani,
Do you mean that the development of the export feature is stopped due to the focus of your team in the new app?
Or...
Do you mean that the new product (Rush) will include the export feature? -
10/28/2015 12:22#34PRO
Hey,@joaquinmari
Doit stopped for a while because of the development of Rush.
Meanwhile,Rush will support this feature of data export.
Thanks for using Doit.
Besides,would you like to be the test user of Rush? -
10/29/2015 02:49#35PRO
@linjiani,
I am interested in being a test user for Rush - is that possible?
Also, I would ech most if not all of the feature requests above.
And I would add how much I like and rely in Doit. Keep up the good work and keep up the development on it, even as you build Rush. Like @Folke mentioned, these two tools have different uses and perhaps different audiences. Don't forget about us loyal Doit users. Continue making Doit the best GTD app out there!
Thanks,
D__ -

@D___
Thanks a lot for your advice.
We will not stop updating Doit.im. Besides,we will try to make another App to meet more needs of users.
You are the most important part in our product.
Wish you a nice day : ) -
10/29/2015 23:11#37
Hi @Linjiani. Thank you for you proposal.
1) Are you leaving doit unfinished?
2) What will the new app consist in?
Too much work unfinished and too many requests unttemded in doit. And even though you abandon doit (and its users) to start a new project?
Please understand me if I decide to wait, outside doit for the moment.
-
10/30/2015 02:20#38PRO
@joaquinmari Hey,you misunderstood me.
We are and will not give up Doit,just because of the new project,the update for Doit will be delayed for a moment.
Our new product consists in combining IM and email and File online to meet more needs for users.
You can use one App to contact with your friends and colleagues.
We will wait until you come back : ) -

@Linjiani, I am interested as well with testing Rush. My 30 day trial version of DoIt expires in a few days and I have fully moved over to using DoIt as a GTD tool. I am planning on purchasing the Pro versions shortly. Does Rush have all of the GTD features that DoIT has and more, or will I need to keep DoIt to managed my GTD tasks? Thanks.

@agoodwin21 Thanks for your trust.
Rush combines IM,mails and files together to improve the efficiency of teams.
And yes,it will connected to Doit.im,but Rush can't replace Doit.im.
As we publish Rush,we will invite you to test Rush.
By the way,is agoodwin21@gmail.com your email?We may need to contact you.

It's reassuring to see some life in the Doit platform. I switched to Todoist for its greater options in recurring tasks, but find their lack of manual sort frustrating. I would happily go back to Doit if there was a sign of improvements.

Well... when can we expect new version of doit.im or the new product Rush?
-
11/25/2015 19:58#51PRO
I'm thinking of coming back to doit but need to see some progress on these requests before I can do so - especially the ability to export my data to an offline copy, and the way in which starred/today items are managed as described by @folke. I have no real interest in Rush based on the description above to be honest, but do want to see the core doit product developed further to keep it in line with other products.
When can we expect the new version and is there a timeline you can share with us for release to the various platforms> -
