There is a design problem that should be addressed. In the Mac version, I was trying to add a subtask. The + button appeared to be grayed out. Sure enough, when I clicked the + button, nothing happened, leading me to believe something was wrong with the task itself. I wasted 15 minutes trying to figure out what could be wrong.

The solution was to double click on the *words* "Add a subtask" to the right of the + button, which then activates the ability to add a subtask. Using a decorative but not functional "+" icon in this way is nonintuitive design. Asking users to double click on plain text on a Mac is nonintuitive. I saw another use on the forum had the same problem (he believed subtasks were grayed out/forbidden). Clicking the + icon is what most users would expect to initiate an action.

Simple fix:
1. Make the + sign and text darker, so they don't appear to be grayed out.
2. Make the + sign responsive, so when a user clicks it, something happens (user sees the entry box).
3. Make the words "Add a subtask" responsive to a single click, not a double click.

I'm having trouble using DoIt to manage dozens of projects (thus, I thought subtasks help me out), and if I hadn't figured out this bug, I might have moved to some other product. I only figured out the solution by checking the iPad version, which clued me in to + button was *decorative* and not functional.

DoIt has a really nice interface, and adding a subtask should be intuitive, like the rest of the app.
