For the present you may see the new tag set if you tap 'Done' on your keyboard UI after you have typed your new tag and before you tap the 'Done' of the tag list. It's a bit awkward but it works. And the problem has also been submitted.

Wnen I try to type in a name for a new tag while in a task and press "ok", the window just disappears and I always have an unset tag only.
