@pnewcomb
Thank you for your feedback.
Q1: Then when I click the X to close it, the doit.im app comes to the forefront. It's pretty distracting. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
A: We will optimize it later. Sorry for any inconvenience. By the way, what is your OS X version? 10.8 or later?
Q2: I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but when I use the global hotkey for smart add, after I press enter to add the item, the dialogue box stays open. I'd like to add my task, hit enter, then have it go away.
A: Now, Enter will not close the "Smart Add" box. Using Enter makes it possible to add tasks successively. We may consider your suggestion in the future.
Shall you need any other help or have additional questions,please feel free to contact us.
Thanks for your support on Doit.im.

I'd say that 99% of the time I only have to add one item when it comes to mind. It's an efficient way to get thoughts off my mind then return quickly to what I was just doing. If I need to add multiple items I'll just open the app.
I'm coming from omnifocus, and that's the way they had it set up. Perhaps you could include an option to choose which way we'd like it to behave? Or have Shift+Return as a way to add/close, or something like that.
I'm on OS X 10.8.4 -

Love doit.im, but the fact that opening "Smart Add" activates the Doit.im main application is very annoying and sort of defeats the purpose of having a smart add box in the first place (which should be to add tasks without needing to open the Doit.im application). I hope it's fixed soon!

@pnewcomb
We've attempted to fix in our latest version 1.6.20. http://enblog.doit.im/post/59460074404/doit-im-for-mac-1-6-20-release-notes
And the new version also have been submitted to App Store and now are waiting for App Store's review. If you are using our version downloaded from App Store, please be patient. When App Store passes it, then you can update to it.
We are so sorry for the inconvenience that caused to you.
