In your case, you may assign a deadline to the task in Someday. When it's due, the task will go to Today box automatically and then you can rearrange it in Today box. Is that OK?
Thank you for your feedback and support.
I like Doit for its availabilty on multiple platforms and a robust and efficient cloud sync, while it is an easy to use and pretty clean GTD implementation.
One thing which I am missing however, which I had in a tool I was using before, was a Tickler functionality, which was implemented the following way:
On items in the someday-maybe list, you could set a 'tickle-date' once this date arises, the item will automatically be moved from the Someday-maybe list and into the Inbox. To me this prooved a very nice feature eliminating to frequent reviews of my messy someday-maybe lists, as I could always trust the items being brought to my attention on the tickle date.

@michelle1987,
thanks for your suggestion which is the workaround I currently use - however I want to avoid the Today box being cluttered with stuff that is not actions as it disturbs and takes away focus from doing. By putting it into the In box instead, I will see the item when I am in "processing mode" and then decide whether it is actionable, and if so from what start date. -

According to your description, it is not the best way to make those tasks in Someday go to Today box when they are due. We will spend time in considering how to implement it in our app.
And now, you may add a tag to those tasks in Someday. When they come to Today box. Use the tag to filter them and then directly drag and drop them to Inbox. Lastly, you can rearrange them.
Shall you need any other help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks for your support on Doit.im.
