@vlsadovnikov
What do you mean by "not able to use doit.im"?
Is there anything that we can help with?
I'm writing in response to your comment on http://help.doit.im/topics/1383
Yes, sure, I'll be happy to help then. However, very unfortunately, until than I'm not able to use doit.im ;-(
With regards,
Viktor

Yes please create a backup feature. THen we will be more safe to use doit.im
I think that was what @vlsadovnikov means
I want to start using doit.im but I am very concerned that I cannot export/backup my data. -

@delta6
Hello,
May I know the reason why you need to export/backup your data? Worry about its safety?
Actually, your data in the server is quite safe. It is encrypted and backuped in US and Japan. No one except you yourself has access to your data.
And any change you make on one platform will be uploaded to the server and synced with other platforms automatically and also you may trigger a manual sync anytime anywhere as long as the network is available.
We will consider supporting "Backups/Exports" in the future.
Shall you need any other help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks for your support on Doit.im. -

I understand that you have very good backup procedures and so on.
But what if some of this occurs:
1) data gets corrupted for some reason (and trust me, this does happen)
2) I accidentally delete some data
3) I want to switch to another GTD system
4) I want to just feel save and know that I can always export data that I own
Please have a look at other GTD solutions. Almost all of them have export/backup functionality. This is the only thing preventing me from truly start using Doit.im.

I fully second @delta6. The server can be 100% safe, but software can get a bug. I also make mistakes and I must be able to recover from any of them. This is why backups are needed. There is a message from someone who accidentally deleted his account from doit.im. He lost his data forever.
Thank you for developing such great system !!! -

Totally agree. Doit.im is excellent but will never be 100% trustable untill it develops it's export feature (like big and famous tools like evernote, astrid, wunderlist etc...).
Did you tell ex Astrid users that now they con import their data to doit.im (using Astrid export feature) but once they are in Doit.im they won't be able to leave exporting?
I think that Doit.im policy about the export feature is wrong and will never let you get your amazing potential (untill you change your policy).
Nowadays clients stay because they are satisfied, and not because they are "caught"
It's a pity because Doit.im is excellent. -

I'll also lend my voice to this cause :-)
I do agree it is normal - most other apps have some form of of backup/export
I do agree it instills a feeling of security (a possibility to secure your data, should you want to)
I do agree it gives the app a more "serious" appeal
And as somebody said in another thread, even just a complete "print listing" of all your tasks and their attributes would be a good first step. -
