Hello,
In your case, did you assign the task "1. Call peter for book our trip." to Peter? If you did, why don't you add a comment "Gather more informations about the trip with Peter" to the task 1? Then Peter can see your comment and communicate with you then. You can also track the task 1, right?
And actually, we also have the plan to introduce task dependency in the future. We will take your suggestion into account.
Shall you need any other help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks for your feedback and support.
When I note a task as
1. Call peter for book our trip.
And brought it done, but need one ore more action steps on it to mark the task as fully completed
So I had called Peter and agreed that I have to search for more informations.
So I would like to add a task, which depends on the 1. task. So I can track all tasks and get a history of them.
Maybe a good approach is to say: right click on the task, "one more action". That command makes it possible to name a new task which depends on the 1. like this:
2. Gather more informations about the trip with Peter
This task is know shwon as a task, no more the 2. one. But when you open the task, you can see the 1. Task as strikethrough and also can open all comments, descriptions and other things which belongs to a task.
And that approach must be endless repeatable... That feature is very important and helpful.

Hi,
no, the task is assigned to myself. But as you mentioned, it must also possible to assign it to Peter!
My intention is, that I can do more actions on a task in order to further tasks.
Like a cook book:
Create task:
1. Peel patatos
(right-click-> "one more action" -> (Makes possible to create a task, which depends and is related to Task 1) - Previous task becomes completed and is shown as strikethrough in the actual task like a history and is fully accessable to comments, descriptions ect...
2. Slice them
(right-click-> "one more action" -> (Makes possible to create a task, which depends and is related to Task 2) - Previous task becomes completed and is shown as strikethrough in the actual task like a history and is fully accessable to comments, descriptions ect...
3. Roast them
(right-click-> "one more action" -> (Makes possible to create a task, which depends and is related to Task 3) - Previous task becomes completed and is shown as strikethrough in the actual task like a history and is fully accessable to comments, descriptions ect...
4. ect....
At the and you have access to a history of this task. You can check whats going on, more actions needed, waiting for action from X...ect....
And at the end, when you complete the last task e.g. Task 4. it is fully completed
Understood?

I am so sorry that we do not feedback to you in time.
Thank you for your description. In your case,I find that you add tasks when you find that you need to do a task after you complete one task. Complete one, add one, do one.....
Collect,Process and Organize,Review and Pick next action and Do. I think you need to create Project first, add all steps you should do under the project. Then do them following the task list. If it is a cook book, I think that you can add one task, and write down all the steps as subtasks.
Doit.im also support you to convert a task to a project when you find the task has many steps to do.

Sry, but that isnt the right solution pointing to "project".
Project - When you exactly know, which steps will occur.
My solution: Is dynamic and cant be exactly known. It depents every time on the situation of whole task. In that way the handling will increase a lot.

Hi,
We will consider your condition seriously, and try our best to find a way to help you easily manage your tasks.
BTW,you can convert a task to a project any time when you need it. And why not have a try to use the Smart add which is supported on all versions when you need quick add a new task? Do you know how to use it? Just input the text, and press Enter will save the task. On the web version, hot key Q will open the popup Smart add window.
Best regards,

Creating projects is only useful, when you know the "roadmap" (all steps exactly) of the task.
My solution is more individual and depends on dynamic indicators from others. Every time when i write an email, and wait for response - there can be many differences of responses... so not possible to make a project and say: Write email - Waiting payment...
Because it can be, that they dident respond to your mail or call directly a lawyer ect....so it ist every time very different!
When you whish I can develop an example. It is realy nice!
Try it out, it is more like agile development instead of "old" and unflexible project management methodologies like waterfall ect.
My whish has nothing to do with smart add....
One remark on Projects and Goals:
It is still fine to add name to projects and the addtional possibilty to add them Tasks.
It is further nice, to add sub tasks....BUTTTT
It is NOT fine, that you cant add start and end time there!
It is not possible to do that which doesnt make sencse!

HI,
In your condition, you will add new tasks when you complete a task getting others responses. The feature which you feedback is really useful for you. We will make a research on it.
Another thing,do you mean that you want to add start and end time to subtasks? In Doit.im, subtasks are a simple to-do list added under a task, which can describe the detailed steps that you do a task like the steps to make a cake, or make a record of the bill of materials like a shopping list.
Shall you need any help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Thank you for your support!

--> Ok, but as mentioned that is not sufficient! When i have 100 subtasks, it is better to prior and give them start and end times. It is expacially required for project goals and milestones in a project.

Hi,
Q: Ok, but as mentioned that is not sufficient! When i have 100 subtasks, it is better to prior and give them start and end times. It is expacially required for project goals and milestones in a project.
A: If a task have so many subtasks, there is two ways to solve this problem. One is to convert the task to a Project, the other is to refine the task. When you have so many subtasks, you should consider a question whether the task is too big. Refine the task, and there will not be so many subtasks belong to each task. -

Task is build a car....
1 - what do you think how many subtasks belong to this?
2- Wheter havin 5 subtasks or having 100. What is different to my feature request? This subtasks need a start and endtime, to mark milestones! -

Hi,
I am sorry that we will not support it in the near future. As subtasks do not have a start and end time, I give you the suggestion. To convert the task build a car as a project, you can add tasks to this project which has a start and end time now. Hope it would help you.
