@mtrahan
Hi,
Thank your for your feedback.
PROBLEMS:
Q:1) Any idea when the next Windows version will be available? The current version feels _very_ clunky and is quite annoying to use. I really _love_ the smart add task and wouldn't want to try another GTD system now but there are quite a few bugs and display issues in the Windows version of Doit.im. One example: if I set something to do in like 3 days with smart add, "buy cat food ^10-01", when I get there 3 days later if I decide to do it the next day instead I just drag the item to 'Tomorrow' in the side bar. Then, I sync and that beings the task back in my 'Today' list! And it is VERY annoying. To push it to 'Tomorrow' I have to manually edit the task to 'Next' to first remove the deadline and only then I'm able to push it to 'Tomorrow' without the sync bringing it back in 'Today'. Please fix this: when I drag something to tomorrow, it means I want to change the deadline aswell and don't want to have this in my 'Today' list…
A: We are developing the new version now which will have Subtasks,Goal and some other new features. The UI is also redesigned. We will try our best to finish it ASAP.
About the problem: Do you mean that if the task has a deadline which is Today, when you drag it to Tomorrow,it will come back to Today after you sync? We will check the program.
Q: 2) There are all kind of display issues in the Windows client. Very often when the calendar is open to set a deadline or something it just freezes there and I can't change months or anything, I have to close it and open it again...
A: It may be the app's performance issue according to your description. The next new version, we have improved it.
Q: 3) I'm getting used to it, but please consider making Doit.im behave like a regular application that can be open by clicking icons on the desktop and in the start menu. From reading the forums, I can see that it confuses quite a lot of people since it is counter-intuitive for Windows users.
A: Thank you for your suggestion. We will consider it seriously and try our best to make Doit.im better for you to use.
QUESTIONS:
Q: 4) I know that 'Goals' are not available in the Windows client yet (another reason to speed up development, guys...), but I am under the impression, from what I've been reading, that you cannot put a 'Goal' inside a 'Project'. Is that true? Why is this? Let me explain why I want to do this. One of my big 'Project' in Doit.im is my PhD Thesis. I won't be done with this project until end of 2014 most probably. I'm looking for something to implement some kind of milestones. For example, 'finishing chapter one', 'finishing chapter two' and so on. I thought 'Goals' would be perfect for this. But as it is, it seems it is not possible for me to do that. What do you have to offer to deal with milestones inside a 'Project'?
A: Yes. Now Goal and Subtask are not supported on Windows client.
The relationship is in this way: Goal——Project——Task——Subtask.
Why not make your big "PhD Thesis" as a Goal? In this case, 'finishing chapter one' will be one project under the Goal.
Q: 5) Is there a way to change the 'Priority' of a task with a keyboard shortcut? On the web client, I can juse press 'p' when a task is highlighted to change priority. But on the Windows version, it seems there is nothing? The keyboard shortcuts on Windows are way too limited, it is kind of ridiculous. Please add more! At least what is available on the web version should be in the Windows client...
A: We will add more shortcuts on windows client.
Q:So, umm, yeah, please please please don't tell me I have to wait until 2014 to see a new Windows client. :) I can't wait that long and will have to find another solution for my GTD needs.
A: You will see the new version in 2013. It will not only have the features that web version has, but also new UI and more new features. As we also refactor,so it has took you a long time waiting. We will work harder.
Shall you need any help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Thank you for your support!

Thank you for all the answers.
I still find would prefer to use 'Goals' are milestones _inside_ a project, but I guess I'll live with it. It would be nice though if you could add stuff to deal with long-term projects, like gantt charts & dependent milestones and stuff like that.
I will stick with you guys until the new version is out and hope it will fix the things that are currently annoying to me.
To answer your question: "About the problem: Do you mean that if the task has a deadline which is Today, when you drag it to Tomorrow,it will come back to Today after you sync?"
No, not exactly, It happens when I have things in my 'Today' list that were due _yesterday_ (and only for tasks that were _scheduled_ for that day). If I move my task due for yesterday into 'Tomorrow', I sync and it will be back in my 'Today' list.
But by 'scheduled', I mean that there is no problem for example if today I had a task in my 'Today' list and tomorrow, when this task with be due for yesterday, if I push it to 'Tomorrow' there won't be any problem, it will sync correctly. BUT, if I add a _scheduled_ task, when it is over-due, I can't push it to 'Tomorrow' without it being brought back in my 'Today' list on sync.
I don't know if that is clearer, it is a little bit hard to explain.
Thanks again for the great support. I can't wait to see the new Windows version. -

Actually, I read your question too fast. My apologies. You asked "Do you mean that if the task has a deadline which is Today, when you drag it to Tomorrow,it will come back to Today after you sync?"
It does this when the deadline is yesterday, yes. (Well, actually, I'm not sure if it does this when it is deadline or start time that is yesterday, I will have to try and test more.) -

@mtrahan
About the feature to support you to deal with long-term projects, in this version, it is not in our developing schedule. But we will develop it in another version.
About the Problem,your explain is clear. Thank you for your detailed information.
