@oriram
They have said that something of this nature will be included in this winter's new release :-)
(i.e. some form of capability to arrange tasks in sequence and have subsequent tasks hidden from the active lists - but the exact functionality has not been revealed.)
I would like to add a closely related request, though: I would also like to see those same capabilities available for Goals as for Projects. I use Goals for larger, longer-term "objectives" ("real-world projects", if you will), and they can contain many Projects. These Projects would also need to be arrangeable in proper sequence manually within the Goal, and subsequent Projects and their tasks be hidden from the active lists.)
Please, please, please, add this functionality.
Other than that, you have a really good product, and the lack of this feature is almost a deal breaker for me.
Thanks,
Ori

Will manual sorting be available in the new version coming out this winter? That would be great.

Yay! Absolutely looking forward to having this critical feature of manual Goal/Project/Task resequencing.
I've just come to Doit.Im from Nozbe, I left Nozbe due to their silly insistence, even antipathy, against providing any sort of multilevel outline structure, Goals/Projects/SubProjects/Tasks/SubTasks structure. I think Doit.Im's approch of Goals, Projects, Tasks, Subtasks will work for what I'm looking for.
However, Nozbe has really good drag-and-drop project and task resequencing in their web & Windows apps, and I'm missing that badly. This is key, key, key to have in Doit.Im. I'm also looking at Doit.Im as a GTD system to train my girlfriend, young adult children, and other people on, to teach them GTD and give them a good tool. If Doit.im fixes this lack of drag-and-drop, it will make this effort a lot more feasible, and wind up with several more Doit.im users.

@wendy_only
I will be really great to have this manual capability at all those levels! Really useful and more "realistic"!
:-)
May I ask:
1) Will the winter update also include the capability to keep the lower (subsequent) tasks hidden from the main Box lists (Next etc)?
For example, will there be a line or heading etc in the manually sorted project view, which allows you to drag some of the items into a position below the line (or drag the line itself upwards) such that these lower items are visible only locally within the project, but not on the main Box lists? Whereas all the items above the line will be visible as usual on the main Box lists (Next, Waiting etc)?
This capability to separate "currently active/visible" tasks from "inactive/invisible/subsequent" tasks is the most important part of the manual reordering feature, as it allows you to enter things in Doit as soon as you you think of them, long before they are relevant to do anything about, without cluttering up the main Box lists of "active" items.
2) And, second question, if this is implemented this winter, will the progression from the lower section to the higher section be automatic (sequentially one at a time when the upper section is empty etc) or manual?
The automatic feature can save a bit of time and reduce oversights. -
