Hi,
Thank you for your feedback!
We are considering improving the Advanced Search now. How do you think about adding an option that you can filter by the Box like Today, Next,Tomorrow etc.?
Shall you need any help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,
Doit.im Team
Thanks for listening!

In my opinion the advanced search is primarily useful for making custom permanent lists and for advanced maintenance/integrity checks (such as finding misplaced and mislabeled tasks etc,)
Being able to filter and/or/not in at least two levels (Toodledo has two, RTM has eight nesting levels) for ALL the parameters are useful - the parameters include thing like Box, Star, Context, tags, creation date, modified date, completed/not completed, priority etc, in other words ALL.
For your reference, here is a list of RTM's search critera: http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/?ctx=basics.search.advanced
Toodledo's search is a bit more customer friendly, click-based, just like Doit's, but almost as powerful as RTM's. And in addition, Toodledo has show/hide quick filters.
But as I have said before, I think Doit already has a very good left menu (which Toodledo and RTM do not have), so the need to create new custom lists in Doit is actually minimal. And by introducing alternative ("longer", more detailed) list views for review purposes (as suggested in another thread) the need for creating advanced maintenance searches is also reduced as a part of the bargain. And by having more convenient and slightly more powerful quick filtering capabilities of the list (e.g. alt-clicking tags to exclude them etc) the need for advanced saved searched is reduced even further.
So basically I think maybe you could even postpone development of the advanced search - if you did some of these other, more frequently used, changes. -

@Folke
Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion.
The improvement of Advanced Search is still in the considering list, not in the going to do list. Before we make clear of this feature,we will not start.
Thank you for your understanding. -

Thanks for your reply, Wendy_only. I like the idea you proposed in response. And to follow up on Folke's comment, I, too, find the need for advanced search to be pretty minimal because of the excellent setup of the menus.
My need for advanced searches at the moment is:
- Searching for all tasks that are due today or overdue in a combination of contexts. As I mentioned in my initial post, I would like to be able to find all of said tasks in my various work or home contexts. If there is any consideration of adding a higher level of contexts (as NirvanaHQ, where I came from, has: i.e., Work area includes Teaching, Research, Service, etc.)., then I wouldn't need that capability in the advanced search.
- As Folke suggested, checking for tasks that are unlabeled or mislabeled.
Thanks for getting back to me!
Cheers,
Dave -
