Hi,
Do you mean that you want to see the task's create time if the task does not have scheduled time for review purposes?
Do you want to know how much time does it has been in your Task manage system through this way as the created time will not be effected by starring and unstarring (going in and out of Today)?
It is not in our developing plan yet to show the create time. Maybe you can manually mark it by posting a comment to the task when you create it. In this way, you can mark the time as the task will show the time when the comment is posted automatically.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Better Use of Dates (for Review Purposes)
It is often useful to be able to see how long a task has been "around", for example if you are Waiting for a report from someone, when did you start waiting? Or when you put something on the Next list, how long has it been sitting there without being done? Or if you unstarred a task that had a deadline, how long overdue is it now (when was the original deadline)?
I believe the already existing dates in Doit - the scheduled date and the deadline date - are enough for these purposes as well, and I suggest that:
- the start date (scheduled date) should always be visible for each and every task, not only for scheduled tasks, in the same way that scheduled tasks are shown
- if the task is not scheduled, this date should automatically represent the date on which the task was created, or, thereafter, the date the task was reclassified as belonging to a different Box.
- starring and unstarring (going in and out of Today) should have NO EFFECT on any of these dates. The dates should be kept intact for review purposes.

"Maybe you can manually mark it ..."
Yes, I do this manually today - or I try my best to remember to do it :-)
This was just a little suggestion for how to make good use of the already existing date field, which is usually totally unused today (except for when the task is scheduled), but could be used for this very useful purpose - in a convenient way.
Just a little suggestion :-) -
