also, just had a thought, perhaps as a quick fix to this, could you have a generic project called no project, that you could select the old project you dont' want, multi select diresired tasks, pull it to the generic no project, then delete the old project, the no project assignment would then be quick and easy?

I feel this is a bug because there should be an option to either delete all associated tasks, or to reassign them to no project, a much wiser choice in my opinion. i have to go in by hand and delete a project assignment now. ugh

I do not know if this will be of any help to you, but i would like to tell you about a "hack" that I use in Doit (and similarly in previous apps). As a rule, I keep all my tasks in "projects". Those tasks that are not part of a "real" project I keep in "false projects" (used as containers), one such "project" for each Area of Responsibility. http://help.doit.im/group/topic/60
Among other things, this habit gives me the very natural option, in cases such as yours, to transfer tasks to one of these "no project" projects. -
