Please return the ability to group tasks in Projects.
Items in projects are sorted by Focus (Today, Next, Tomorrow...).
And within each group, there does not seem to be a particular order of sort.
I would like to have my tasks sorted by priority (which was the case before).
I use the web app in Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63.
Thanks

@alexkdev
Hi,
The order in each group under the project is the same as the order in each box. In Inbox box,it is ordered by created time; in Next, it supports manual sort.
Do you mean that you want all tasks to be sorted by priority?
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,

Hello,
No it does not work. I have grouped my "Next" items by priority, and when I go to one project, the "Next" group is not sorted by anything.
If I remember well, we had the ability to sort each project (by priority, or other..). We should have this feature back.
Thanks. -

I'm not able to manually order tasks within a project in a time-based view (e.g. Today) or within the project itself. I thought this was one of the features of the recent release.

Yes, secondary sort by priority under projects/context

@alexkdev
Hi,
You can group by priority and other before.
Now it is group by box. In the Next group under the project,you can manual sort the tasks.

Hi,
In the Next group under the project,you can manual sort the tasks. In other groups,like Today,you can not do it.

Hi,
Do you mean that you want the task list under the project can be sorted by priority or grouped by priority? -

@wendy_only
I cannot do this as you described.
Web 4.03 build 20140103 -

Disregard my last comment. I just realized that this is not done via the dragging handle on the left edge of the task, which is used to drag the task to other timeboxes, projects or contexts.

When I go into a project, I want all my tasks to be sorted by priority.
Or else : to be sorted by Focus (Today, Next, Tomorrow, etc..) AND then by priority.
I don't want to manually sort the "Next" items in the project :
- it is too slow as I have many tasks.
- I want to be able to sort all tasks
This should be automatically done by a button, like it was before.
Please take us back this feature, I find it really missing :-/

@JDavidCarr
Hi,
Do you click the task bar itself to drag and drop? You should not click the mark at the left of the bar. See the attachment. -

@alexkdev
Hi,
The order of the tasks is different from different groups according to the box name. Do you mean that you want all task under different groups to be sorted by priority -
01/08/2014 20:48#15PRO
AGREED with alexkdev
Relying on manual sorting is difficult when you have a lot of tasks -
01/08/2014 21:32#16PRO
When I open a project on the left menu, I want to be able to choose between a group by a clic, like before !!!!
Example 1 - Group by priority
=======================
- PROJECT X
.... Priority High
.... Priority Medium
.... Priority Low
Example 2 - Group by Focus (or whatever it is called)
=======================
- PROJECT X
.... Today
.... Next
.... Tomorrow
etc...
=================
And other type of sorts if available, but the 2 above are what I need. -

Random order with compulsory manual sorting is bad.
Automatic priority sorting is good.
Automatic priority based initial placement - with optional manual adjustment thereafter - is very good
Then we get the best of both worlds: automatic priority sorting, just like we want, but we can change it a bit (or a lot) if we want by dragging the tasks.
Just make sure that when a new task is placed into a new box (etc, or has its priority changed by the user) it is placed automatically into the manual sequence immediately before the first task that has the same priority. From there on the user can change the position if he likes, but tasks will then always be sorted by priority by default.
The mistake that was made in the Dec 22 release was there was no properly established default manual sorting order. Everything was thrown out "randomly" (using hidden, irrelevant criteria). Manual sorting can be extremely useful, but there needs to be a wise initial position of the tasks, such as priority.

@alexkdev
Sorry, I did not see your post when I wrote mine.
For my own purposes, if tasks within the project were first grouped by box and then were subject to automatic initial placement by priority (as I suggested in my post above) I think that would cover all my needs for looking at a project.
But for other lists, such as Next, Waiting, Today etc I also want to be able to group by Context and by Goal. This is very important. (And I like the Deadline grouping, too, for the Next list.) -

Any news on grouping projects by priority ?
I am really wondering why I paid for this app if features disappear from one day to another... -

Hi,

I cannot accept your answer.
This was a feature that was working before, and with an update, has disappeared.
So what are priorities designed for, if the sort should be manual ?
I was pro since dec 2012 and have just renewed on december (when Projects could still be sorted by priorities). And your only answer is : that's the way it is now and we will not change it.
In all this thread, I have not received any help from the Doit team, I am really stunned.

Ok, so 2 weeks since you replied and I don't see any changes.
Can you give me a date when the bugfix is planned ?
Remember : all I want is you to revert back to the previous group by function that was existing before. It is not a new feature !! It is a bug fix.
And on Android, it works good : I go to a project, and can group by many options... So that should not be that hard to do it on the web version...
