Hi,
Q: cannot edit details
A: What's the browser do you use?
Q: I also then tried to assign a task to him, since the email was appearing, but it showed that I have no contacts.
A: When you add a contact in Doit.im,he must be Doit.im user. When you add him, you can send him tasks after he agree to be his contact. Could you please tell me the email address which you add him as your contact by private comments so we can help you have a check?
Shall you need any help or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,
Doit.im Team

I was able to click the plus to add, then enter an email as prompted. Then I clicked edit on the email to add more details, the dialog came up, asking for nickname, phone number, and birthday, note. I filled this in, and the dialog froze when selecting done. It did not ever go away, I had to close it myself. The rest of doit was still working. The contact seemed to be in the list, but if I click on it, the info I entered was not there, trying again, the same thing happens. I also then tried to assign a task to him, since the email was appearing, but it showed that I have no contacts.
Is this known, or I am doing something wrong?
thanks

Okay, so I figured this out after I posted the comment, I think you need to add comments like this when applicable to the relevent parts of the application, ie when I tried to add the contact, it seemed like it was working fine, I had no idea that it was not going to work at all, it just didn't. If there would have been a simple dialog or note of some sort that the user needs to be a doit.im user then I would have done this first and then tried.
I have also just signed up to activeinbox add on to my gmail account (gtd add on to sort your emails and turn into proper gtd handled emails) and am absolutely loving it. They have a marvelous help system for new users I think anyway where each time a new user clicks on a tab for the first time, it explains how/method you might use to go forward with that. Very useful in setting it up properly for the first time. I am sure you can turn this off when needed.
Also, I would highly recommend looking at the way they handle a few things if you haven't already. They have a feature where you can read an email, at the top of the email, it has a little dialog where you can enter a note for what the next task regarding this email would be. I believe they also add dependent subsequent tasks in heirarchy correctly, intelligently, but you'd have to look at it. Also, would be great if you could perhaps work with them so tasks could be brought in to doit inbox as well. You could now as you can convert an email to a task, then add to your google tasks, I suppose then you can sync your google tasks perhaps with doit, would this work?

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion.
1. We will consider adding some description for the contacts in Doit.im.
2.We are designing the guide for new users now.
3. We support sending email to Doit.im to add tasks. The feature what you said will be added in the tool of Doit.im Gmail plug-in which we are considering developing it.
Best regards,
Doit.im Team

sounds good, thanks.
can you expand on what you say above, that the email features will be added...
-do you mean:
-the ability to add subtasks within doit, as I gave the example for (this is why I brought it up, a method or example for looking at adding into doit's application.
or
-ability to email a task to doit, do you mean so if a next step is added in activeinbox, it will be sent to doit? -
