Here is a somewhat related suggestion. It has a different purpose originally, but it could be easily modified such that drag-and-drop onto the tags is also possible. Then we would solve two things with one single solution:

I am sorry if I wrote unclearly. What I meant was that IF you did implement the vertical "rearrangement toolbar" (like a "right-hand menu") as suggested in that thread (http://help.doit.im/topics/2678#comment-2) then this would contain, among other things, a long list of tags (the third "group" in that example). Now to accommodate @martoj's request, all Doit would need to do is add is the capability to drag tasks onto those tags in order to have them tagged.

This capability gives the user convenient tagging in addition to the powers of the "rearrangement toolbar" in is original form, which would give the user convenient (and quick and flexible) options for viewing and limiting long lists, primarily the Next list, in order to be able to make the final selection of tasks easier. The regrouping capability, the AND/OR/NOT filtering and the list of tags all contribute to this.

@wendy_only Hello again, sorry i duplicate this posts can you delete the other comment? @Wendy_only , can you consider my purpose? i think is good idea to manage tags efficiently with edit, add, delete, drag & drop various tasks to one tag,... is good idea for processing and assign tags when the asks are in inbox.

Please, consider it in the next development meeting. more users are happy if you implement this function.

Thank you for your reply, I agree Wendy, contexts and projects are essential utilities, but as you say, to filter tasks by tags is also important, for example to separate personal and professional tasks, or to assign batch tag a group of tasks by dragging and dropping, I think most users will agree with me that would provide this function value Doit, because currently the tag management is basic, only create or delete, no option rename, or select multiple tasks at once and assign a label.

@wendy_only Hello again Wendy, I appreciate your response, taking into account this request, since I opened the ticket in January 2014 and 7 months have elapsed.

Today I decided to change some of my other best defined tags, and I had to manually change the tags for all my work, when would be much better to drag and drop, and when I want to assign the same context several tasks.

Hello Wendy, Just following up this thread as I have been waiting for more than a year now too for multi assignment for tags, it would be great if we could get all our tasks organized in just projects and contexts, but unfortunately tags are essential for many people too.

Can we please have an update with if and when the developers plan to implement this feature?
