Inactive projects were never shown on the sidebar to the best of my knowledge. Click on Projects (in the sidebar) and scroll down in the main workspace. Your inactive projects are there.

I just upgraded on my mac and it no longer shows my inactive projects on the sidebar. Is there a way I can turn that back on, so I can drag and drop tasks to my inactive projects?
