Hi,
Could you please describe it in details?
Best regards,
Doit.im Team
I start using DOIT.IM
One point I would like to see as a new feature. GTD distinguishes between "Starred" as topics which needs special focus and attention and Today
Would it be possible in new versions to have it implemented as seperate?
Thanks
Ulrich

Hi,
I use the Web applicaiton. I see that when a task is starred, it does appear in the Today list
My understanding of Starred in GTD is a bit different. I can be something which needs special focus or attention. So for me a starred task can be in the today list but it can also be planned for another date or it can even be in waiting if it is something important or ....
I would lke to be able to click in each task on the star symbol but not necessarily have it appearing in today
So I would like to have another List which is called Starred, and where all tasks are shown which are starred.
As a reference how I use it, you can look to nirvanahq.com
Another big help would be a different colour code for the due date: like red for today, something else for next 7 days, ... Like you have for priorities. Could be an indicator in the task bar itself.
Hope I could express it quite comprehensible -

+ 1 for a regular Starred list. This would make Doit so much more useful and popular. To be able to see a starred next action both in Next and in Starred, be able to see starred waiting for actions both in Waiting and in Starred, be able to see starred scheduled actions both in Scheduled and in Starred. Etc.

Hi,
Now the Star is designed for put the tasks to Today.
It has not been in our developing plan yet. We will consider it seriously as add a new focus is not a small thing. It will infulence a lot of logic in our system. -

Yes, I realize it will involve some work, but perhaps not quite as much as it would seem to you at first sight:
- in the same way that Tomorrow is really a part of Scheduled even now, the old Today could also be considered a part of Scheduled. All the logic for scheduling start dates etc is something you already have.
- a new Today list (a starred list) is almost like a "hard-wired" very special "advanced filter" which makes a global search for the very special visual "tag" called "star".
- the visualization and convenient toggle-clicking of the star is something you also already always had. The main difference would be that when somebody clicks it, don't touch anything - don't move it or change anything at all; just toggle the task's "star tag"
- the automatic detection at midnight of tasks that start today (or started earlier) is also something you always had. The difference now would be that you do not move the task or change anything - leve them in Scheduled but just ensure that the "star tag" is set. This, in turn, ensures that these tasks will be visible on the New Today list (the starred list). Old users who liked it the old way will not notice any difference, The scheduled tasks will appear on the New Today list just the same.
Trust me, the work you put into this will be well worth it. The absence of a simple "star tag" and "starred list" is one of the major dealbreakers for people who consider using Doit and then decide not to. And in addition you will now have a "Scheduled Today" section at the top of Scheduled. This means Scheduled will give you an accurate view of everything that really has/had a decided firm scheduled date.
