I would very much like to be able to add/manage contacts manually, without needing to invite them to use Doit.im as well. I'd like this feature because I could assign tasks to people (have them go to my waiting list) and know who to contact when it's still not done after a week or so.

I agree with Japhir. The ability to assign tasks to non-members would be helpful with managing delegated tasks.

Hi,
It has been in our developing plan. We will import the contacts list from the email,phone contacts and so on. They do not need to be Doit.im users and you can send task to them by email and other ways.

I do not necessarily need to send the task to them, i'd very much like to just be able to label the tasks for specific contacts without them noticing me doing that.

Do you mean that you want to add the contact information as a mark? Now you can use Tag to do this. -

I know there is a workaround way to do this, by adding it as a tag. But I would like to be able to "assign task to" and then have a list of contacts, that don't necessarily need to be informed about my delegated tasks.
Right now I use one tag for "private" matters, and so the tagless tasks are all work-related. I don't want to add a "work" tag to most of my todo's, since it would be taking too long. So for me, I wouldn't want to use tags for people, only if it were possible to have a default tag automatically assigned to new to-do's, which i could turn off for some tasks.

Hi,
We have the plan to add a Contact information to the task. In this way,you can add the contact information,but the task will not be sent to the contact. You can view the tasks by Contacts.
Do you mean this? -
