It is already like that (at least on the iPhone). You do not need to enter a contact.
But for some strange reason they have placed the Waiting For option under the heading "Start time" - along with Next and Someday/Maybe, all of which are quite independent of time:
Next = I will definitely do it (sooner or later)
Waiting = somebody else will do it (sooner or later)
Someday/Maybe = not sure whether it will be necessary (perhaps never)
Fix Waiting For
It's nice that in the desktop and web clients I can add any task to Waiting For. I should be able to do this on mobile. I should not have to select a contact for Waiting for. This is a needless constraint. Being able to simply tap on the waiting for button and automatically send a task to that section would make the software immensely better.
