You can do it by Smart Add on the web version. See the pic in attachment.
Also you can use hot key "Q" to Smart add tasks. Have a try.

I wonder if it would be possible to have an input field somewhere at the top, where you could quickly input new ideas into your inbox no matter where you are: next actions, waiting for, projects... To quickly enter new ideas without having to leave your current work.

Yes, but this only adds to the current list (if I'm in Next, it adds to Next, not to Inbox). I meant being able to quickly add to Inbox whenever I am. -

You will see the notifications when you open this page at the top right conner. Later we will add other ways for this.
