Anything that has "intelligence" built in should also have a switch to turn it off. "Intelligent" machines are often stupid.
Intelligent-Date Behavior
I wasn't sure where to ask this (it's not really a feature request, and it probably doesn't qualify as a bug) but has anyone else experienced frustrations with the Quick Add intelligent date functionality on non-Web platforms?
For example, if I add a task on Monday morning (1/1) that says "Find out if John Doe has time to meet on Friday", Doit is picking up "on Friday" and scheduling it for January 5, which is the next Friday. But I wanted that task in my inbox so that I remember to ask John TODAY if he has time on Friday, not on Friday when he is just going to laugh at me for waiting until the last minute. Accordingly, the task now appear in my Scheduled view.
It almost seems as though the intelligent date functionality is a little too effective.

No argument here. A toggle checkbox would certainly alleviate the frustration. Maybe I should go post this under Features.
@wendy_only: Can you take this as a feature request and close this thread? -
