@chohdry
Hi,
Did you test it on Mac or web version? Please remove “^” to have a try on Mac version when you add time in Smart Add.
Best regards,
Doit.im Team
The smart add feature on both Mac and Web version is broken when time information is added.
Here are results of me testing all different options in both platform.
These options do NOT accept time in any format.
TaskNameWeb ^Today 11:00
TaskNameWeb ^Today 11:00am
TaskNameWeb ^Today 1100
TaskNameWeb ^Today 11:00am
TaskNameWeb ^Tomorrow 11:00
TaskNameWeb ^Tomorrow 11:00am
TaskNameWeb ^Tomorrow 1100
TaskNameWeb ^Tomorrow 11:00am
TaskNameWeb ^2014-03-21 1100am
TaskNameWeb ^2014-03-21 1100 (This one ends in Inbox on Mac version?)
Thanks
P.S. this was reported earlier but due to a confusion it was marked complete. It is still broken and I would hope it is fixed before my pro account needs renewal.

Hi,
I tested on both web and Mac with almost similar results as above.
I have re-tested again without the ^ and there is a pattern now and there are these major problems:
1. 24 HRS format (2200) does not work and the task goes to inbox instead of even going on same date.
2. In all the options the title retains the day and time value, which is quite ugly to be honest.
e.g. New task is created with title "TaskName Today 22:00pm" instead of "TaskName"
Raw test data:
TaskName Today 11:00 (Works)
TaskName Today 11:00am (Works)
TaskName Today 1100 (goes to inbox)
TaskName Today 1100am (creates all day instead)
TaskName Tomorrow 11:00 (Works)
TaskName Tomorrow 11:00am (Works)
TaskName Tomorrow 1100 (goes to inbox)
TaskName Tomorrow 1100am (creates all day instead)
TaskName 2014-03-22 11:00 (Works)
TaskName 2014-03-22 11:00am (Works)
TaskName 2014-03-22 1100 (goes to inbox)
TaskName 2014-03-22 1100am (creates all day instead)

Hi,
Q:1. 24 HRS format (2200) does not work and the task goes to inbox instead of even going on same date.
A: Sorry that this format "2200" is not supported yet. You can try 22:00.
Q: 2. In all the options the title retains the day and time value, which is quite ugly to be honest.
e.g. New task is created with title "TaskName Today 22:00pm" instead of "TaskName"
A: Now all texts will be saved in the task title.

Hi,
I will keep in mind that format with : works only.
However I could not understand what you mean by "A: Now all texts will be saved in the task title."
Does this mean that this is by choice? If it is then it goes against the principle of doit being a smart product.
To be honest, smart working of doit is the reason why I subscribe to pro account.

Hi,
I mean that now the time text will be left in the task title if you do not use the shortcut "^" to add start time. -

Hi,
Time part of it is being left even if I use ^
Which is confusing especially if a task is edited afterward. Say I change the task to 10:00 later the title will still say old time and possibly date.
I believe this is wrong and should be fixed ASAP.

@chohdry
Hi,
When you edit the start time of the task, you need edit the title manually as the title will not automatically be changed according to the start time.
Do you want to make it be changed automatically? -

Hi,
I want the time / date options to work as expected with ^ characters.
If these work I think the time/date should not be left in title at all by smart add.
i.e. TaskName 2014-03-31 11:00 should create a task with following details:
Name: TaskName
Date: 2014-03-31
Time: 11:00
This would be clean and smart.

@chohdry
Hi,
I agree that it will be clean and smart if time/date not be left in the title. But we can not make it well now. We will try our best to find a better way to solve this problem.
