Hi,
Which list do you point to? Now every list has different sort rule.
Best regards,

Is there a way to have by default show/sort "newest" dated/scheduled tem on top of list?
Currently it shows the oldest.
Kind regards,
JP

Dear support.
When I select in the iPhone "today" and I group by priority it shows the oldest date on top of each grouping.
I prefer the revers.
Kind regards,

If I may join in her, I would strongly suggest that the principle "Newest on top" be used for all default placement, everywhere in the whole app.
One instance where this is very important is the Next list, which is very long and where new things currently land at the bottom where you cannot easily see them. This causes a lot of unnecessary user errors.
The reason in general why "newest on top" is a better principle than "newest at the bottom" are:
1) old things that still have not been done are usually less important; that's why you have not done them, and that's why you prefer to keep them at the bottom and not have to look there all the time; you normally want the most important or urgent on top
2) many of the new things are quite important and/or short-term; they statistically belong more often near the top than near the bottom, and they often get done quicker
3) it is important to be able to see the new tasks easily and to be able correct the position if it is wrong; all this is easier and safer if they land at the top where you can see them -

Dear Supoort,
No answer to the request. Could I at least have it in the Today view?
My today items land at the bottom :) and old ones remain on the top.

Why is it not in your development plan yet? It is such a simple little thing, and so vitally important for maybe 50% of the users (me included).
You could easily have a user preference setting (under Settings) allowing users to choose between "Place newest on top" or "Place newest at bottom". This preference setting would then apply to all lists. This seems like a very simple way to keep all users happy. -

Hi,
Q: Why is it not in your development plan yet? It is such a simple little thing, and so vitally important for maybe 50% of the users (me included).
A: It may be really vitally important for maybe 50% of the users. How about the other 50%?

A: We will take it into consideration. In fact,we do not want to have many setting options. How do you think if all settings have options? Would you be happy if you need to set all features by yourself?

I can understand your point of view. Having many settings options could become a slight problem if you have hundreds and hundreds of them. In many cases users can live with whatever you have chosen, and do not absolutely need to change anything.
But in the case I was referring to, with default placement of tasks onto lists (and/or default display order) I have the impression that users have very different mentality, as we have discussed earlier. About 50% are like you, want to treat lists as first-in-first-out "pipelines", preferring to do the oldest tasks first. The other 50% are like me, want to see the newest and most important tasks first. The tasks that I have earlier chosen not to do are typically less important and are best kept further down - the older they are the less important they tend to be and the further down I want them.
And then, of course, on most lists you can change the default placement either by changing the task's priority, or, on some lists, by dragging it. Although this possibility to adjust the position is important, the default placement is perhaps even more important, because no one really wants tasks always placed in the "wrong" order and having to adjust them all.
The problem is that it is not easy for a user of either of these two mentalities to change to the other way of thinking and feeling about what the listing order represents (importance or age). If you do not have a user preference setting then 50% will always be strongly dissatisfied and may never be able to change their fundamental thinking.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for providing this app - Doit is still my #1 choice overall (even though I have many suggestions ;-).
