Hello,
We are considering adding the "task dependency" feature.
And you said, I simply want to hold them in the project and mark them as "Next" during my review process.
Do you have any good idea to deal with those "hold on" tasks under a project? Regard the "hold on" status as a son-stasus Under Next?
Thank you for your feedback and support.
For example, I have a project to remodel the workbench area of my basement. This project has a couple dozen different tasks. Only about 3 of them are "Next Actions". I do not want to clutter my "Someday" or "Waiting" lists with the other tasks. I simply want to hold them in the project and mark them as "Next" during my review process.
I've seen some discussion here about "dependent tasks" which I suppose would solve this problem, but I'm not really interesting in managing task dependencies across my dozens of projects. I simply would love to have tasks that are in a project but are not "Next".

To me, the tasks simply should not have a status at all. They are simply part of a project.
This seems like a fundamental principal of GTD. When you're creating a project, you're identifying all the steps (tasks) that are needed to achieve "done". Then, you identify the next action. The way that Doit.im is set up, ALL the tasks are Next actions, unless you choose to use them to clutter up other lists.
Managing dependencies seems much too time consuming. I'd rather just have project tasks that have no status. -

@mmorowitz
If you'd rather just have project tasks that have no status, how can you deal with those "hold on" tasks? I think you don't want to regard them as next action under a project, but in you description, you still want to put them in the project and mark them as "Next". Also next actions?
If so, I think you can add a tag named "Next" to those "hold on" tasks, and then filter them out by the "Next" tag. How do you think of it?

We feel so sorry. We have to close this ticket for you have't replied it for a long time. :( If you have any more questions about it or any new feedback on Doit.im, please feel free to start a new one.
Thank you for your support.
