All my Google Calendar appointments gone after syncing with Doit.

Hello, I have recently bought a Pro account, and I´ve been having all sorts of problems with the syncronization between Doit and Google Calendar. I went through the procedure of unauthorizing Doit in Google, relinking from Doit and authorizing again (several times), but my Google Calendar appointments would not sync as tasks in Doit as they were supposed to.

I tried one more sync last night with a fresh Doit (empty of tasks), and after a while only seven appointments from my Google Calendar had been downloaded. But this morning, the rest of appointments in my Google Calendar had dissapeared!! Luckily I had a backup file of the Calendar, which I was able to import; but now I am afraid of this happening again.

Later on this morning, suddenly all appointments in Google Calendar have been synchronized to Doit, which led me to think the problem was solved. But the synchronization hasn´t worked after that, and I keep getting a message that it is not possible to synchronize more than 30 times a day. Honestly, this is all not very reassuring. I need to use my calendar and my task manager all the time and I want to change from one tool to the other knowing that they are permanently synced; not beeing able to trust the system makes me feel unsafe and takes away all the fun and the effectiveness from my GTD system.

Can you please solve this synchronization problems and let me sync as many times as required for my system to work? I´d appreciate your feedback on this. Thank you.

Hi,

1. When you link to Google Calendar, you need select the calendars.

2. You need manually click the G button to sync the tasks from GCal to Doit.im. It may take some time every time.

3. The quota which Google gives us is limited. So we can not make it possible to let you sync as many times as required. We will apply to Google for more quota.

4. Could you please tell me more information of your problem? Could you please tell me the name of the calendar and one task title which is disappeared?

Hello, last night the sync with my Google Calendar failed again and all my appointments in Google Calendar were erased. I had to use my backup file to restore them. I am stopping using the Google Calendar sync feature in Doit until it works. Am I the only user with Google Calendar sync problems? Could you find out what the problems is?

Hi,

You are the only one user who feedback this problem now. Do you mean that the events in Google calendars which you select to sync to Doit.im are erased? We will check this issue.

Hello, Wendy,

yes, what has happened again is: I link to Google Calendar (I described the process in my first post). The syncing is unresponsive and partial, only a few appointments from Google Calendar are downloaded to Doit. I then press the G button again, but nothing seems to happen. When I opened the Google Calendar the next morning, only the seven appointments of the previous day that had already been downloaded to Doit today were kept in Google Cal, all the other ones were gone. Both times I have found a new calendar in Google called Doit.im which was created automatically, perhaps that has something to do with this behavior. What I have done is restoring a backup copy of my calendar, and I have now unlinked Doit from Google Cal. It is a pity because I use Google Calendar to sync my appointments between my Android device and my desktop Outlook, so having the tasks scheduled with Doit show up in all my calendars at once would have been very nice.

Otherwise the Doit web app works very well for me, I am specially happy with the Goals feature, which allows me to go one level up in my planning overview.
