I know that many people like reminders, but personally I find them irritating, and I also go numb by them, and I find that they do not help me find my tasks in between the reminders.
Instead, I get by almost entirely by using Priority, which guides my eyes whenever I visit (review) my Next actions. My default Priority is Blue. If something is running dangerously late I increase it to Red during my morning review. The turquoise ones I know I can safely ignore until my next weekly full review of the Next list, so they do not distract me even though they are fully visible and available for action.
Just an idea for you. It works perfectly for me, but I know we are all different.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback! But you could add reminders to tasks now. I could not understand you well. Could you please tell me more details?
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,

@Folke - Thanks for the hint. I'll tinker with that.
@Wendy_only - My apologies for not explaining well. My concern is not so much with reminders, but more that a task with both a start date and deadline appears as a single long event when viewed in Google Calendar. My hope was to somehow be able to see the task both on the start date and the deadline date, but not necessarily on all dates in between.
If I have one or two tasks that have many days between start and deadline, it's ok. If there are many, the days get filled when viewed on Google Calendar and it is difficult to see other tasks. I suppose what I am really searching for is a cleaner calendar view.
While one workaround I have found is to create two nearly identical tasks - one with start date only and the second taking place on the deadline date with the start date and deadline simultaneous. A bit clunky.
Any thoughts? Your experience is much appreciated. -D -

I understand your point. I agree it is very important to have a clean calendar that only shows me what I want to see.
Personally I do not normally want to see either the start dates or the deadline dates on the calendar. I want my calendar to clearly show me my appointments etc., such that I can find time slots for further appointments. A start date is generally just a "first possible date" and a deadline is a "last possible date". Most of my tasks have neither. I only enter such dates if they are objectively true, never as a planning device (because I find it clumsy). On the start date I will typically put the task on my Next list. On the deadline date I will either do the task (last chance), or trash it. Most of my tasks I do well before the deadline.
If I have a task with a start date of Nov 1 and a deadline date of Nov 30, it is highly unlikely that either of these dates has much relevance for my ability to make appointments in November or even to generally assess my overall workload in November. The task might take an hour to do and I might end up doing it on the 18th or whatever. I prefer not to have such things clutter my calendar at all.
I would like to have a "switch" (checkbox etc) called "Calendar" which allows me to control whether a Scheduled action will be shown on the calendar. Usually I would leave this checkbox unchecked, and only check it for appointments or perhaps sometimes for particularly important dates. As it is now, I never look at the calendar view and I do not use the calendar integration. I keep appointments in my normal calendar.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback.
Now the task will be showed in the date of the task start time in the calendar viewing page in Doit.im. Do you mean that the task should also be showed in the date of the task deadline if it has?
When it is synced to GCal, it will be showed according to the rule of Google Calendar.
Thank you for your support!

@Folke - I really appreciate your feedback on how you do things. Given all the options, it helps to be able to know how someone else uses it in actual practice.
Thank you both - with your help and a little bit of experimentation, I am getting a better understanding of how it works/how to make it work for me. -
