hi, go to preferences > general settings > hide following boxes, and you can hide the buttons.
No, is not possible to remove task count from fav icon.

Hi, is it possible to hide "Today", "Someday" and "Waiting" buttons? They are just taking space for me. Also is it possible to remove task count from fav icon?

Well it isn't possible to hide these buttons i mentioned.............
And it would be nice if ability to hide task count in fav icon be implemented. -
