Hello,
New user who recently made the switch over from Astrid - I love the extra features, improved control and flexibility of doit.im.
What I do miss however (although I have received a lot in return) is the ability to dynamically set the due date for recurring tasks (taking into account the completion date).
Example:
I currently set a task to get a haircut every 5 weeks (on a Saturday). 5 weeks is just the right amount of time for my hair to get messed up and seeing a task for this every 5 weeks allows me to fit that in my daily schedule when it's due.
However, some weekends are just too lazy and/or busy and I miss the "appointment". At that point, getting it done next week means that the next due date will be in 4 weeks (not 5), which is a bit too early.
I can just edit the task in scheduled each time this happens - but I have like 10 of these recurring tasks and a lot of busy weekends - I don't want to keep changing the dude date myself for all of these.
This used to be partly solved in Astrid by setting the recurring task to happen in X amount of time (5 weeks in this case) after completion date (not at dude date) for some tasks, where this helps.
Could you implement something like that in doit.im?
This would of course mean having to set another parameter in recurring tasks: appropriate-due-date-days-of-the-week or something. In this example, the next due date after completion date should be on either a Saturday or Sunday (as I usually only have time for this haircut task in these specific days). If 5 weeks after completion date is due on a Tuesday (just an example - if I take a day off and get a haircut during the week) it's not going to help me very much - I need this task to be due on a Sunday or Saturday, whichever of the two that is closest to the X time mark that I have set for the recurring task to happen (30 days, for example).
This could help users keep their recurring task lists extra clean as well - we already have due dates and start dates - how about "show dates"?
In case I miss a task on Sunday, I don't want it to show in my list every day until the next sunday (as overdue) - just then. i could just edit it I guess, but it wouldn't be "overdue" - it would apper as "due" then, not postponed for 5 weeks and edited each time.
Hoping I'll receive some feedback on my feedback, thank you.
