Why is the link for the Android app a downloadlink for an apk file and not a Google Play Store link?

If I try to download the newest and correct version of your Android app I click on the link and an apk file download appears. Why is this a download and not a link to the Google Play Store?

Is the app in the Play Store not updated anymore?

Hi,

The app in the Play Store will be updated.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=im.doit.pro.v4&hl=en

There are some users who could not visit Google Play. So we offer the link which users could download the apk directly. You could download and update the app directly from Google Play.
