I agree this is a problem, and therefore I cannot use Doit's calendar sync.
What I do instead is I enter appointments in my calendar only and have an automatic reminder sent to Doit 15 hours ahead of each meeting. This allows me to have today's appointments and tentative/targeted other tasks in one single Today list in Doit. But unfortunately this does not allow me to see future appointments in Doit, which would be useful when I review my projects plans.

@konietz
Hi,
Do you mean that you want to see the tasks in GCal which are completed in Doit.im as you want to review them?
Best regards,

As it is now Doit can synch with many GCal calendars and also has a GCal calendar of its own called Doit.im. The problem described here mainly applies to the case where a users syncs with the former type of calendars, which are usually appointment calendars and which are sometimes shared with others.
We generally do not want to "sabotage" a shared calendar, and we often want to keep records of our appointments even if the calendar is not shared.
In order for this syncing to work smoothly Doit would need to have an "intelligent calendar import" functionality, which allows us to see a shared calendar event in Dot, decide if we want to keep it as a task in Doit, and allows us to delete it or complete it in Doit without there being any changes at all made to the original calendar entry. And if we have scratched it we want Doit to remeber that we have scratched is, such that the event does not show up again in our Inbox (or other lists).
Conversely, if we want to create an action in Doit that is of a "calendar" type 8appointment, meeting etc) that will go on a shared calendar, we would need to be able to select, when creating the task in Doit, that this is indeed a "calendar" type event - not just an "impossible before" action, i.e what GTD calls "tickler file items". As it is now I use Doit's Scheduled only as a Tickler file, not as a Calendar.
I personally have no need for seeing my Ticklers on any calendar at all, but if they are going to be mapped I believe the Doit.im calendar would be the best place for these, just as it is now, whereas real Calendar events, such as appointments, should typically go on one of the other calendars.
