Although I do not have sufficient utility of time estimates to even bother to fill in any such values, I do agree with you in principle. For those who bother with time estimates, it would be best to have it implemented properly as you suggest, as a standard parameter for all tasks, wherever they sit. As it is now time estimates only exist in the form a highly questionable feature called "Daily Plan" which could easily be just a standard view of the Next actions list (or Today list or both) list rather than as some funny pop-up that has been artificially glued on top of everything.

The value 'Time Estimated ' for a particular task prominent in the list that helps orient successful or that it is better to postpone the next day if things did not go according to plan

Plus one for showing estimated time in the list as well.
Furthermore, here's a feature suggestion:
I use the Pomodoro technique all the time. It would be awesome if I can fill in estimated time using options like "Half Pomodoro" "One full Pomodoro" or etc. -

It can only be seen when you add your estimated time in Daily Plan.
