I suppose you are right in principle. But what I do is I put each of my Projects under a Goal, and each Task under a Project, which means I never need to specify a Goal for each Task (as this is implicit).

I understand what you mean perfectly, however, can a task be under a goal but not under a project?

Yes, they can. That's why I said I agree with you in principle. I just never would use that option. I think it is neater to keep stray actions gathered in "projects". I have ten such permanent "projects" where I keep all my single actions. These are named in a different way than normal (completable) projects, and each one contains single actions that relate to a particular "role" (area of responsibility) that I have.
