I agree. In addition, related to this, I would prefer the new task to be placed at the top of that priority stratum (not at the bottom of it).
I would like it very much if the position could still be fine-tuned manually (as Next actions can be today). This is very nice indeed (and would be nice for Waiting and Someday actions, too). But the default initial placement should be improved, as suggested above.
Thanks.

Hi,
Do you mean that you want the sort rules as below?
1. tasks to be sorted by Priority when you group the tasks by project
2. tasks to be sorted by Priority when you are in the Project list
3. new added tasks to be showed at the top of the list when the list support manual sorting
Best regards,

@wendy_only
1. sorted by Priority within ALL groupings (by context, project, box etc) on ALL lists (Next, Waiting, Project, Context et5c)
2. sorted by Priority within each "box" (the only current grouping option) in a Project. (There could also be further grouping options for the tasks in a Project, but that is another story.)
3. On ALL lists (regardless of whether it supports manual sorting) a new task is best added at the top of its own priority stratum - e.g. a new blue task will be placed before the the topmost existing blue task.
(If the list supports manual adjustment, it would even be an acceptable smaller improvement to have new tasks land at the very top of the whole list.) -

@Folke
Hi,
We will do a research on these features if we could make them.
