Hi,
Do you mean that you want to keep the due date when you move the tasks? Now the dealine could not be earlier than the star time. If the start time which you set is later than the deadline, or you delete the start time, the deadline will be automatically changed.
Best regards,

I would like when a due date is set to keep this original date, or have an option to do so. This way if I may a task that was due today say, it would still have today's date on it as overdue wehn I complet it in two days time. Now it auto moves the due date when you move the task. Can this be an option. I want to keep track of what tasks are chronically overdue, but lose that when i move them to next or tomorrow etc.

I think the solution to that is that the start time should not change either just because you move the task. No dates should ever change just because you move a task or flag it for Today.
Ideally, IMO, the start date should be the date when the task could or will be started, i.e. either a historical "since date" which tells me since when the task has been possible but has not been done, or a future start date (either a GTD tickler date or a GTD calendar date). When the date arrives, and the future date is no longer future but today, the date remains, and if the task is left uncompleted the date should remain intact even if you move it.
It would be nice, though, to have a manual reset for the start date (for example if you want to reuse an already written task for some other purpose). -

Thank you for both replies on this. I appreciate your thoughts.
Folke, you hit the nail on the head here! I love do it and have been using as best I can for a couple of years now, but I still get behind, and my tasks get behind, then when I reschedule them I lose track of how many have been deferred, yet again moved to a new start date etc. I have tried tagging things as past due, and that does help but I have a large amount of past due now, so using that to help prioritize is starting to lose it strength!
I like the daily plan, and review a lot, I like that when I do it, it marks the task as deferred so somewhere i have a record of this. But I want to see this across the board, like Folke says Wendy.
thanks, lisa -
