Now, the reason why we support to show the task numbers only next to Inbox, Today, and Waiting is that Inbox, Today, and waiting for is important in GTD. Inbox is used for collecting all to-dos in your mind anytime, anywhere. You need to know how many tasks are waiting for you to deal with.
Today is the box you need to review everyday. In fact, an excellent time manager, his Today must be reliable, and he hardly has other time to do extra things that are not in the Today list. So Today is which you should focus on every day.
For waiting box, there are tasks that you send to others, and the number can remind you of how many tasks you need to keep track of.
In addition, GTD says, people may feel so anxious or frustrated when they are aware of so many tasks uncompleted from the counters next to every boxes. Therefore, we just make Inbox, Today and Waiting for show numbers.
For your suggestion, we will consider later but may find another way to solve this.

Displaying the number of tasks in the category list in the right-side column
Hello,
It would be useful if the number of tasks is displayed next to each category in the right-side column like the following:
Today (2)
Tomorrow (3)
Scheduled (5)
etc.
