Also, creating and deleting a new task from the web will create and delete the task in the windows application and the other way around but all my old tasks are gone.

And you said, all your tasks are gone. Do you refer to tasks in all the boxes or just tasks in a box?

If the latter, please give us that box name.

In addition, if convenient, could you please give us some titles of disappeared tasks?
