I totally agree with this request.
This concerns the important basic functionality of an app to allow tasks to be organized and reviewed in a convenient and flexible way. It is not possible to solve such thing by using some third-party app such as Evernote or a a calendar. It really has to built in into Doit.
It does not need to be difficult. Doit already has a Goals feature that could lend itself very well to being used for areas. All you would need in order to meet tek's requirement is to be able to hide some of the goals while at work, and vice versa.
And exclusive filtering (NOT filtering) of tasks would be immensely useful for many purposes, whenever we want to narrow down the list of suitable next action candidates.
Please go ahead with all of this. It is way more important than some of the other developments that can be easily managed by just using a separate app.
Area of responsibility (again), or exclude tags. Or "is not" in searches.
This has been requested many times before, and it is apparently in your pipeline. But it's been there for so long, so I'm worried you may have given up on it: Do you still intend to implement "Area of responsibility"? When at work I want to be able to make all private tasks invisible, and vice versa. It would be really useful (and I have tried to jump ship and start using Get it Done or Nirvana several times because of it, but I keep coming back to doit.im).
If you are not going to do it, how about making it possible to not only select a tag in the different Focus views, but also to exclude a tag. I could exclude all tasks tagged as "private". (Simpler than tagging all my work related tasks with a "work" tag, because there are so many of them, and they are tagged with so many additional tags.) Alternatively, make it possible to select more than one tag - I could select all that applied to work/private.
And if you cannot do that, how about making it possible to make "is not" searches. (E.g. Tag is not "private".)
Please?

I think Doit should allow to make a boolean search, than includes "is not" operator and more elaborated searches than nowadays.

@vgomezt It is really a nice advice,we will consider it.
Thanks for your feedback.
