Hello,
It has been listed in our development plan. We've done research on the feasibility of sorting tasks and projects manually. We will develop it ASAP. Please be patient. :)
Shall you need any help or have additional questions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your feedback and support.
The "Next Action" in a project is only meaningful if it's in the context of an ordered list of actions.
(The added bonus of ordering tasks is maybe you get get Doit to identify the next-action for each project.)
In other cases, it would also be useful to be able to sort tasks in project or focus by my choice of priority, due date, entry date, alphabetical, etc.
Please please please consider this change. Thanks!

Somebody has already asked for this over a year ago. I tried doit back then and dropped it again because of this missing function. It's really impressing how many products are lacking this simple feature. Only because of that it's impossible to find a substitute for Omni Focus under Windows. How are you planning a project? You brainstorm and then sort the steps into an actionable order. That's the natural creative progress. How do you even have to research for the necessity of that. It should be self-evident.
It's a shame that there is no company that is able to create a tool that is as good as Omni Focus. It doesn't have to be better or different. No fancy additions. Being just the same would be enough. But noone seems to be able to just copy it. I don't get it. I just checked back into doit today because after several months I thought about giving it a try to look for GTD windows tools again. There are some new ones e.g. TimeGT. But its the same problem there: You can't manually sort your actions. It's depressing. and please don't tell me to switch to OSX if I'm not satisfied. I would, but I'm stuck with Windows at my workplace.
Sorry for the rant but I'm so disappointed. -

If you don't have the possibility to check how Omni Focus does it here's the deal:
You type in the actions, you MANUALLY sort them in a chronological order and then you select if the actions should be completed one after the other or "parallel" which means the order does not matter. Depending on your selection either all actions or just the next action of the project will be shown in the contexts.
That's all -
