May I add another request that has a different purpose but which resembles this one in being a kind of "shortcut" operation for making more powerful use of the Project feature for Checklists.
If you have checklists e.g. a "morning checklist", "weekend checklist" etc (all probably organized as Someday Projects for convenience) with possible actions to consider, e.g. water the plats, clean the windows, mop the floor, mail letters etc, and you decide, after checking, that some of these actually need doing today, it would be extremely handy to have a "copy to Today" command for these, such that, without destroying your checklist you could get a fresh copy of these frequent, intermittent actions (e.g. "do laundry"), complete with title, description, tags, contexts, everything. -

@Folke Hi there, if I understand you correctly, you want the sub-task to appear in the "today" list without destroying the checklist when it is time. We support this function now. You can set the start & end time for your sub-task and they will appear in the "Today" list on time.

@Linjiani
Thanks for trying, and I am sorry for being a bit unclear.
No, I did not mean to program a date for the task, just to be able to "pick" it when I see it in the checklist, for example if I go through my "morning checklist" in the morning I want to select right there and then which of those things I want to do today. I normally do not plan my things by date in advance (to much work, and too many changes later).
But it is totally correct that I want to clone it into Today without destroying the checklist. This would save me the trouble of manually creating a new copy of the task. In fact, ideally, the whole title, description, sub-tasks, tags and context could all be cloned for every selected task in the list in one single operation - first click the desired tasks to select them (this functionality already exists), and then issue the "clone to Today" command (new! probably available from the rightclick menu etc.)
