@wassim
Thanks for your support and feedback!
- We are going to release the notice of updating in the forums recently
- Maybe we'll release it directly without the alpha testing.
You recently announced on Facebook that the new version of Doit is coming in October. Can you please let us know:
- What are the new features that you're going to introduce so that we know in advance whether it's worth the wait before giving up. Is there going to be files attachments?
- If we can get early access to the beta version even if unstable, and when?
Best regards,
Wassim

@Linjiani
You said you will share the new features and updates soon about two weeks ago. We're just 3 weeks away from October. Can't we at least understand what are the features that you guys are working on and what we will be expecting? We really need to know this information. I am checking the forum on a daily basis just to see that announcement. Thanks!

@pieras123
LOL it's been killing me I swear. I am the thread author and I have no idea what are they talking about! I believe the "private" option should be revoked from the forum for transparency.
To make a long story short, there is a beta version being released sometime in October and the public version will go in the Play & iTunes stores at the end of the same month. Some people seem to be requesting access to the beta version as soon as it's released.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Wassim -

@wassim Hello, I use the privacy comment reply to others Because I need to confirm with them whether the email address is correct So I can send them to the beta version, so the "private" option is useful sometimes. I would really appreciate it if you can understand. Thank you!

I have been a loyal premium user with doit for almost 4 years now. When I first set up my account there were not many task management apps that provided the flexibility and GTD functionality as doit.
I have tried many of the top task management applications on the market, these include NirvanaHQ, iqtell, trello, todist, Wunderlist, Asana, toodledo and many others. I, however, kept coming back to doit, as it continued to be the best fit for my activity management workflow.
The doit (Snoworange) development team has been a huge disappointment to their users over the past year. The application has such potential, but the developers have chosen to ignore the concerns and recommendations of their users, including many that pay for the service. They have missed many deadlines, poorly communicated the future of the application and misled users on application updates.
The recent discussion of a new beta release of doit rallied many users back to the service and support of the development team. We were excited to see doit start to move forward again with development and were anxious to see what the development team has been working on for the past year. But the management team true to form managed to take this excitement from their users and turn it into frustration. I can appreciate that the project manager had health issues, and I honestly hope he/she is okay. But this shouldn't have prevented someone from the team posting an update on the Beta trail prior to the release deadline.
It would be nice if someone from the development team would provide an accurate and no B.S. update as to the future of the doit application.
If you choose to respond to this post, please don't use any of the canned responses that we typically see in the forums "Thanks for your support and feedback!" or just "Thank you for your feedback!"
I am going to give doit until the end of November 2016. If nothing changes, I am going to cancel my premium membership and move on.
Just my two cents for what it's worth. -
11/01/2016 19:21#73PRO
I agree with the previous post, as I am still waiting for this 'New Version'.
Please can you give us a clear idea of what is happening going forward?
I would like to know: when we will get the upgrade(s), will it work with 3D Touch, will it work with the apple watch, what is being done about the Mac & PC versions etc etc.
Pleas can you detail for us what is going to be done? -
11/03/2016 01:39#74PRO
Is this a joke that update ??? I just retuned with a paid subscription from Wunderlist for that update!
Until now, no sign and specially not a word about it... we are now 2nd of November

The only thing this forum has done is validate my feelings about doit. I have been a member since forever, but since about 2013, I have been frustrated with the opacity and complete lack of development. I really do not think it is a valid excuse to say, "oh, sorry we haven't been as active (ie not active at all) because we're developing some other product you may want to try. I'm happy the doit team wants to build yet another mail/chat app, but as many other have said, I also don't really care. I'm a doit.im user, not a guy looking for a new mail program. This reminds me so much of wunderlist's ill-fated attempted to do whatever they tried to do when they basically stopped developing wunderlist and came out with some all-in-one program. It nearly killed the company and they abandoned the project to focus on, guess what? Wunderlist - the product that was actually successful.
I really do feel the same way as so many other voices on this forum. Ironically, doit.im was such a flexible, great app when it came out years ago, it STILL reamains the best one out there, but the utter lack of development is frustrating and scary. I'm not even talking about adding new features, I'm talking about keeping the code current with the existing features. Last week, my iPad told me the iPad version was so old it was slowing down my iPad. How is that possible? How can there not be even a basic update to the iPad version in literally years? On top of that, I was told there was no plan to develop the iPad version.
I've already started to try and move over to todoist because, like everyone else, I'm waiting until the end of November, but then I'm gone for good. Its just a matter of time before my ipad/phone tells me I can't use doit.im at all. Or we get an announcement that there won't be a public release and now we can all just go chat on Rush.
I'm sorry for this rant, but this has gone on for years and lots of people have said the same thing. If you don't want to develop a great product, at least sell it off to someone who will. How is it possible that the company who's very existence is to make me more efficient and not miss deadlines can't hit a single one of their own?. -
11/09/2016 15:58#81PRO
@Linjiani
I was hoping to have the new version reviewed before the date that my pro version expires which is Nov 12 2016. Due to the track record thus far with the lack of development on this product, I do not have plans of renewing it until I have the next version in my hands and can determine if it is worth it. If your company would like to keep me as a customer, I am asking that my pro version get extended for free of charge until two weeks after the release of the new version so that I can properly evaluate it. Please do the right thing here as I don't want to jump to a new task management tool but will if I have to.

Hi all,
Thank you for all your trust and concern!
The release time of the coming version has closely been paid attention to by our loyal users. We are really sorry for the postponing of the release which has brought worry to many of you. It's not because of the new project, though staff deployment does affect the progress of Doit.im to some extent. We've always been fully devoting ourselves to Doit.im since it has been our dream to make a great productivity product. Our developers have been so engaged in their work, often staying up late at night, that we support staff feel reluctant to urge them any more. We do, though, send your feedback timely to the whole team. With so much pressure, our team still put it as of top importance to make the product powerful yet still easy to use.
It's due to a particular reason. Our product manager suffered bad physical condition due to years‘ work of high intensity, which has delayed the update of Doit.im. He told us he's been extremely sorry to our users.
Now, we're striving to make it up. It is expected that we may release the coming version on December 31st.
Thank you for your lasting understanding and support! Sorry again for the delayed release time.
Hope you may witness each step of Doit.im with us!

So the "Alpha" is iOS only. Was this mentioned in a previous post regarding beta access? This would be good information to communicate to your users. I am glad that I switched...
I made the move to Asana (www.asana.com). I would also recommend NirvanaHQ (www.nirvanahq.com).
Goodbye, Doit.im... Thank you for poor communication and neglecting your loyal users. -
01/02/2017 13:27#91PRO
@jphillips1280
How's going mate? You know all I ever wished from Doit.im is "Transparency". If Doit.im said they were having any kind of problems all loyal customers would have supported them because we know they have a great product that everyone hoped to stay alive. I'm not only concerned about the late release of the new version, I'm actually more concerned about continuous updates and improvements to the App. If there is a bug for example, will they wait another 2 years for a new version update to address it like they did, or they'll keep updating their apps on a weekly/monthly basis like the other great apps out there in the same field?
The problem with paying through the Play Store has been there for a couple of years now. Look at the threads everyone comes and complain they paid and their subscription hasn't upgraded. How come something as important as that where you take money out of the pocket of people and don't deliver unless the customer comes and beg for their money or the upgrade in this forum? Isn't that a SERIOUS issue that should have been addressed LONG ago (regardless whether it's been addressed in the new version or not)? Why is it that we always should keep saying "Doit is a great product... Doit is a great product". Well hell yeah it is a great product, but the people behind it weren't so great treating their customers and the people who trusted to invest their business plans & actions into it. They went for an entirely different product. Rush. Who the heck cares. Who the heck on earth cares!
You've been disappointing us for years. YEARS! What have we done to you other than supporting you and telling others about the App? What was our mistake as loyal customers? Why do you keep lying to us? I don't know. Do you think we're kids or babies? Every one of us has a serious business to manage. Why can't you just say it whether the problem is financial or not. Just say it and I'll be the first to support. Why you're leaving a great product behind of you for destiny. Have you ever heard of fund raising? It's no shame and everyone does it. What's the issue guys? Lack of employees? Ask for a raise in prices and we'll do it. Lack of money? Go for fund raising and see if you make it or not. This is not acceptable guys this is seriously BAD!
Stop lying to us. In the name of Holy Marry stop lying to us! We're mature people and not babies, stop treating us like babies.
Best regards,
Wassim -

" What was our mistake as loyal customers? "
Your mistake is hanging around. If the product is as poorly supported/maintained as you say, why are you still here?
Unless you just enjoy complaining... -
01/02/2017 18:03#93PRO
@rbclark The forum is essentially in place for people to rant about what they don't like and share thoughts, ask questions or share concerns. So what you are asking me here is to leave the forum and not complain, and just come here to greet my friends. Grow up. This is a forum for complaints and if you are doing well on your own then better take care of your own business and leave the people who are responsible about the product to answer our questions. We're not looking for lectures from people like you. We are paying customers and have the right to complain.

Adios forever!!! And yes keep my subscription money for nothing

@jphillips1280
Thank you for your lasting support!
We should have replied you earlier but we hadn't fully prepared. I think I have to answer now to tell that we do put efforts into the development of Doit.im and we do put our loyal users like you in our heart.
The lack of updates last year doesn’t mean we have give it up or we don't care our users. On the contrary, we were trying to do more for our users, because Doit.im has always been our dream product. We love it, and we hope to help more. In order to bring more value-added service and better user experience to our users, we put much strength in developing another product in the previous year, expecting to integrate it with Doit.im. But it turned out to be unsuccessful after its releasing for half a year. We did wasted our time and have delayed the development of Doit.im itself. But on the other hand, it’s still a good try that we have seen that direction much clearer now.
And we adjusted our goal and turned back to the development of Doit.im itself in the last quarter of 2016 whole-heartedly. During these months, our designers and developers did work very hard on the new version. For the very first version next, after more than one year’s interruption, our developers decided to rewrote most of the codes, which our users may not see much from its appearance but it does take quite a lot of time and you may feel it through its high speed of synchronization. And our designers have tried to improve every detail of the product. By now in the new version, many details have been modified and improved. We’ll list the features soon. And what’s more, we’ll continuously add new features and optimize existing ones.
As to the beta versions of iPhone, we've been updating it with our users' feedback day by day. And as to the Android version, we'll release the beta version very soon. It's still late compared to our previous plan, but considering there are so many devices to adapt and so many features to customize, I myself think we should show our understanding on our developers as I do see their hard work each day.
As @agoodwin21 posted above, we have a general developing plan here:
http://enblog.doit.im/post/155699937251/announcing-our-development-plan-for-the-first-half
I know it is because you care about us that you made the complaints. Thank you for your care, and your care for our product manager, he's much better now.
Thank you very much!
Have a good day! -

@grabarz
Thank you very much for telling us your feeling!
Tomorrow has now been removed as a single list, but still appears as the first group in Scheduled.
a. It’s still convenient if you’re accustomed to view it every day.
b. It would fit more closely for the actual situation that the default date is tomorrow when you pick a date in Scheduled.
c. Besides, it would be visually much clearer when you pick from "Start Time" or “Move to” list.
But we will follow our users’ feedback on this feature, and may change it back if the majority of users still want to have a Tomorrow list separately.
Thank you!
If any more ideas or questions, just tell me. Your feedback are always important to us.
Good day!

@Kassy
Tomorrow was the second most important view for me after Today. Scheduled on Doit was Today + 2 days. This is how you educated your clients for using Tomorrow/Scheduled for years and now you've changed it. I think most people including myself would love to see a Tomorrow view with tasks for tomorrow being excluded from scheduled tab (except for calendar where even today & overdue would show).
Best regards,

Thank you so much, @wassim!
There are already several users who helped us with the test told us the same opinion as yours. That's of real help. But for the present, we'd like to keep the solution for a month or so to see if Tomorrow list is still in need. We set such a period so that our users could make a real comparison between the solution with and without Tomorrow list. We believe such a comparison will help us make the right decision.
You may tell us whatever in your mind, anytime.
Thank you!

You could also use Force Touch to interact notifications on blocked iPhone. You could have "Snooze", "Reschedule" and "Done" button.

@grabarz hey mate tell us how's it going so far? It's a pity Android users can't test so far, so I appreciate if you can let us know your opinion about the new version.
Best regards,

@Kassy, thank you for adding me to the android test user list. You mentioned on Jan 17th that it will be ready this week, however it is now January 22 and I haven't seen any different UI in my local DoIT app. I am eager to try this new beta version and am more eager to see the DoIT team achieve their goal of providing timely updates to the product. The continued delays since October 2016 and earlier are frustrating for those of us that just want a solid product that continues to grow. As everyone says, if you are not growing you are dying. And that is that last thing I want for DoIT.
Eagerly awaiting the beta and final updated version.

@agoodwin21 Thank you for your concern!
It is foreseen from the latest progress that the beta test version for Android will be released within this week. Sorry I had been told it would be at the end of last week, but problems appeared during the development.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding!
Beta test of Doit.im V5 for iPhone has been finished, and we've submitted the new version for iPhone to App store yesterday. If you also have iPhone, you may download it as soon as it passes Apple's review.
If any ideas or suggestions, please just let me know.
Thank you!

week is gone...

@ maybe they have their week configured in their DoIt app to start on Monday instead of Sunday. ;-)
@Kassy , it seems that another week has passed with a empty delivery and no communication. Patience and understanding goes only so far...
