I'm going to todoist.com. It looks like GTD is fairly easy and there are some nice tutorials on how to make it happen.
Anyone else have any GDT alternatives to doit?

Sadly I am at that point too. Of all the tools todist is by far the best (if you need Web/Install/App)
Plus they actually have an updated ipad version, unlike doit.
It's really sad what's happened with doit it is a real good tool but without email to task - it's just not cutting it. Plus over the past year development has really slowed down. -

Thanks - I went with ToDoIst - I'm just left with my Next, Waiting, and Someday items in DoIt until I can work how to do them. Even so, I just started to put any new Next, Waiting & Someday in ToDoIst as Labels.

If you happen to use all Apple devices I would highly recommend OmniFocus. I recently switched to OmniFocus and it does pretty much every thing a GTD user could ever want and it's super customizable. It's really unfortunate that there are no Android, Windows, or web versions of the app because I know a lot of you guys that are unsatisfied with Doit would love Omnifocus. Maybe the reason their product works so well is because they focused on only Mac/iOS.
Here are some of the useful features from OmniFocus that Doit is lacking:
- Tasks can be nested inside other tasks as many levels deep as you want. Subtasks also have all the same features as a normal task. In Doit, subtasks were limited to 1 level and lacking in features.
- Projects are easily moved into and out of other projects. Projects also can be organized into folders.
- Projects can be defined as sequential, parallel, or single action lists. Beyond that, each task (and all subtasks/levels) can be customized to sequential or parallel. This is the perfect implementation of parallel/sequential tasks and projects for people using GTD.
- Perspectives - these are basically super customizable views for organizing and filtering your tasks. Similar to "areas" in some other apps and very powerful.
- Location awareness - notifications can be sent when you are in close proximity to a context with a GPS location and have tasks that need to be done at that context.
From hanging out on these forums for years I know that if Doit implemented half of these features you guys would be very happy. I really hope Doit can turn it around and make something you guys want. -

I left this summer for ThinkingRock probably the best GTD software from a functional view I have tried. but hopeless mobile app. If you spend most of your time in front of one computer I can highly recommend this, but if you use serveral computers and mobile devices it's not good enough. It's also ugly but you can probably live with that.
So I have just returned to DoIt and to this disaster with no email.... -

Thanks, Colin - I have a few iPads but I am a PC user.
Thanks ibasto - I will stay away from ThinkingRock for now but will remember to check back if my experience with Todoist doesn't work out.
Right now I am VERY excited about ToDoIst. -

Hi everybody,
Thank you for your feedback and support.
It works now!
We didn't reply earlier because there were so many people who told us the problem of sending tasks through email so that we've been engaging in fixing it up.
Any other problems, just tell us.
We'll still put our efforts in making Doit.im a great and easy-to-use GTD tool.
Thank you again!
