Hello,
On the Mac version, you can create a filter box with "Tag: Mr. Jones" as one filtering condotion. Here is a video which tells you how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i9D2o-S8ls
And then the filter box can be synced to other platform you are using.
Alternatively, you may use the "Context" feature. GTD says, Context doesn't only refer to a place, it also refers to a person you talk with or a tool on hand. Here, you may create a context called "Mr. Jones". When you open the "Mr. Jones" context, all tasks with "Mr. Jones" will be listed in front of you.
Hope it could help. If you have further help or have additional questions, please feel free to contatc us.
Thank you for your feedback and support.
Searching, a major flaw for my workflow
I really do like your application. I love that's it's cross platform and your updates are fairly regular.
My workflow consists of Projects (anything requiring more than one action to complete), The task (the "what?" question), Contexts (the "where?" question), Resources (the "who" question). With Doit I use tags for resources. This is important as a task may require a specific context, but also a specific resource.
My difficulty with the search (I've only tested mac and ipad) is that the search is not universal. What I mean is that when I search it does not include tags. I can only seem to search for tags once I have selected an option in the sidebar. This is a problem. Let me give you an example. I have several tags the require the help of Mr. Jones. Some of those tasks are in "Next", some in "Scheduled" some in "Someday", some in "Waiting". I have a meeting with Mr. Jones and would like to see everything related to him. How can I find all tasks tagged "Mr. Jones"? Currently I seem to be unable to do this.
I would also like the ability to search all tasks everywhere at once, without having to go through, "Next", "Scheduled", etc separately to find my information.
looking forward to your reply.
