Thank you very much for your proposal!
If you agree it's a good idea to put the reference materials in Evernote, you can already use it now, on iPhone, Android phone, Mac, web. (I'm not sure if it works on Windows since I don't have Windows machine at hand.)
What platform do you use?
Please try using it on the detail page of a task.
If any problems, please feel free to tell us.
Another box: Reference
I found this topic about reference notes. I need this too. What's news about this?

"I would love to keep some notes just for reference in doit.im. I am aware you are considering a way to integrate to Evernote (which I applaud and would use). Another option would be to include a new "box" called Reference. In addition to the boxes for Today, Next, Tomorrow, Scheduled, Someday, and Waiting, a Reference box would let us track Reference items separately from timed, next, or someday actions.
Thanks,
Mike"

Ok, thank.
I use web (Chrome) and Android app. Evernote works well on the web, but is a litte heavy on cellphone. But it's ok, I will use another solution for my reference material and leave just actions on Doit.
Doit is perfect for GTD, congratulations. -
