I personally don't like to see additional number and they distract me a lot. This is one of the main reasons why I love Doit, because they want you to focus on the important stuff (Inbox, Today & Waiting) are my favorites and I hate to see any other numbers.
However, what I would suggest that you do is to add a start date and due date for your projects. I don't know if you are aware of this feature, but you will be notified the day they start date comes or when their due dates arrives.
Of course I am not speaking on behalf of Doit.im and don't know if they will implement your suggestion or not, but I am giving you a tip to avoid forgetting that you had a project that needs to be worked on. Good luck.
Best regards,
Wassim
Today I forgot that I had a project that I wanted to work on on 6/23.
I hope you understand. :)

Hi, thank you for your question and suggestion!
1. Where do you mean by the 'collect task bar'?
2. The number of projects are visible when you click projects. You missed the project maybe because when you select Contexts, you may not see the Projects. The problem has been solved in the coming version that we've improved the menu into the combination of left column and the key menu on bottom bar (Please refer to http://enblog.doit.im/post/161885871206/list-menu-not-handy-improved-again ) so that you will never miss the Projects menu, since it is now the key menu list at bottom bar.
To avoid missing a project, you may, as @wassim said,
1. either add start time to your project, and you'll get a pop asking you whether you'd like to activate the project when the day comes;
2. or set the project's start time as Next, but add a task under it with its start time being the day you hope to start the project, and set a reminder to that task.
If any more questions, please feel free to tell us.
Nice day! -
